  • Researchers at the University of Glasgow plan to uncover why roughly 10% of pancreatic cysts develop into pancreatic cancer. The findings could help to identify what high-risk cysts look like, ultimately improving treatment and survival rates. Britney Alex spoke with the Glasgow Times about her experience having a cyst removed in March 2024 that was one stage away from being cancerous. She has since joined the project for surveillance and speaks on the importance of funding research like this. You can read more here: https://bit.ly/4a6cajK

  • When you have pancreatic cancer, hope is hard. It’s often all you have. A heartening but fragile thing to hold on to. That’s why we believe people need more. Some of our TCS London Marathon 2025 runners kindly shared what "more than hope" means to them, and we want to hear from you too. Will you share what bringing more than hope means to you? 💜 👉 https://bit.ly/3OPY6Rr

  • Today we remember Angela, who sadly died from pancreatic cancer on Christmas Day 2021, but lives on through a gift left in her Will to Pancreatic Cancer UK. We will never forget her kindness. Angela’s legacy, together with all caring supporters who give through gifts in Wills, means that our nurses will be there for future generations affected by pancreatic cancer, and our researchers can keep working towards breakthroughs in diagnosis and care that are so desperately needed. 💜 Together, we can bring positive change, and more than hope, to everyone affected by this terrible disease. • Season’s greetings from all of us at Pancreatic Cancer UK! 🌟 As the end of this year is upon us, we’d like to say a special thank you to all of our incredible supporters. Together, we’re demanding more than hope for people affected by pancreatic cancer. 💜 Please note: our Support Line service is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, but open as normal otherwise Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9am to 4pm, and Wednesday 10am to 4pm on (freephone) 0808 801 0707. You can leave a voicemail or email nurse@pancreaticcancer.org.uk at any time and we’ll aim to get back to you within two working days.

  • We are so close to our target! Will you help us reach it? We need you to help fund the next 7 months of early detection research. 🔬 Click the link before this window of opportunity closes: https://bit.ly/4iO2uOq Thank you for your dedicated support this year. Your kind gifts to support the pioneering work of our researchers have meant that together we've made more progress in the last 5 years than the previous 50! But we must do more. You could help fund exciting research like Dr Salvador’s at Cardiff University. She believes there may be as much as a 10-year window between when an initial mutation occurs in a cell to when it becomes advanced pancreatic cancer. Understanding more about how and why this happens could lead to new early detection tools, which will save more lives. Please consider making a kind donation. Together, we can give people a much higher chance of surviving pancreatic cancer, so they can make many precious memories with the ones they love. 💜

  • We understand this time of year can be a particularly difficult time for people affected by pancreatic cancer. Our Support Line service is closed on the Christmas public holidays, but open otherwise if you require support or guidance. You can call (freephone) 0808 801 0707 or leave a voicemail or email nurse@pancreaticcancer.org.uk at any time and we’ll aim to get back to you within two working days. 💜

  • Time to celebrate some of our brilliant colleagues! 🙌 Some of our colleagues recently celebrated our first Foundation in Management Completion Event. The Foundation in Management Programme at Pancreatic Cancer UK included topics such as recruitment, leadership and coaching skills. Congratulations to our first ever graduates Anne Davies, Peter O'Callaghan and Louise Ellis, pictured below with our Director of People and Culture, Sherie Holding.

  • Supporter Lee Rawlinson was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November. Tragically for Lee, it was found too late for him to be eligible for surgery and he was told that he had just months left to live. Lee is determined to use the time he has left to selflessly help us spread awareness of the disease and its symptoms, details of our Support Line, the desperate need for more funding to go towards early detection and treatment research, as well as make amazing memories with his young children, Darcey and Marley. We cannot thank Lee enough for sharing his experience in the hopes it’ll prevent other families from the same heartbreak in the future. 💜 You can read more here: https://bit.ly/4fh7TLb
