Chasing shiny new things is rarely the answer to your fitness troubles... I have had a 6pack for pretty much 20 years now. Yet, my training and nutrition philosophy barely changed in those past 20 years other than some evolution on HOW i do things. Sometimes I let my body accumulate some extra body fat, abs go a bit more faded, but those are times of extra stress or holidays or a result of a shifted focus. The one thing that never changes though whenever I want to decrease my body fat and bring out those abs better is this: ✅ If i want to improve my physoque, I focus on the basics! The boring shit... Like eating enough protein, staying in a calorie deficit, traininig hard, sleep, eating more vegetables... These are the things that ACTUALLY get you results! Not the sexy stuff. Not the Ice Bath... Not the supplements... Not a "new" "exciting" way to work out.... Not drinking your own urine first thing in the morning... (although I never tried the last one) Of course, these boring, basic human things don't make good Instagram Reels, they don't go viral. ... but anyone whoever got in and stayed in great shape nails those basics. Regardless of what super fat-loss prodict they're selling online! 😱

I am not really amazing in fitness... Stop rolling your eyes, it's true! I am fit compared to the average man of my age, but on the wider fitness scene, I'm about top 10-15% judging on my recent results in fitness competitions... The thing is, I'm decent in many different sports and fitness competitions, but not really amazing in any. ... and you know what? That's ok with me! I like to be able to run 10k under 50mins, even though I know it impedes my progress on Deadlifts. Equally, I can deadlift around 200kg, which is ok, but nowhere near competitive. I could push this, but I would have to start sacrificing my metabolic conditioning, like burpees, jumps, sprints, etc... Getting to know yourself and what really makes you tick, with a help of a coach, is a great way to find happiness and contentment. I know my deadlifts won't win me any awards, but I'm working on making sure I am still doing them well into my retirement age. I won't be bothering any of our marathon running athletes on their journey to push the sport further, but I'm actively working on still be able to run when I'm over 70. My goal to is to be a generalist. Yours might not be. The important thing is to find what YOU want, not the latest fad social media is trying to push you into.

Before Sir Roger Bannister ran a mile under 4mins in 1954, people didn't believe it was possible! In fact, doctors, cardiologists agreed that one's heart will likely explode if they tried from the exertion... 😬 Now, nearly 100 athletes run sub 4minute miles EACH YEAR! So, whatever BS belief about yourself, your fitness or your health you're holding onto... LET THAT 💩 GO! You don't have to put up with middle-age spread, going through menopause confused or lose your fitness as you age! That's a lie! ... But only you can change your own trajectory! PS: Yes, I have doctored to image to include my face on it... you didn't notice, did you? 😜

🤔 Imagine this: You've not been to the gym for years... but you want to get back into shape. You've been subjected to lots of self-centred TikTok fitness BS... you feel like the gym (and gym culture) is not your vibe. You tried a cheap gym, but you are sick of kids grouping around the equipment you need... you're unsure what you're supposed to be doing anyway... so you end up walking a bit on the treadmill before escaping hell on Earth! Don't dispare, P1 is built for you! You walk through the doors, you realise this place is different... People say hello to you even though it's your first time. It smells good, not like the gyms you've been to. Why are people smiling here anyway? Gyms aren't supposed to be like this. Well, your new gym IS! Welcome to P1 Fitness Manchester. The last gym you'll ever need to join!

Exciting time when we rotate into a new programme! It is always a fine balancing act spending enough time doing something to let the body adapt and get better, but keeping the interest up. Just like most things in life, in fitness, 90% of results come from doing the 'boring 💩' consistently, week in, week out!

Have you ever noticed that life tends to spiral? 🌀 Bad sleep 😴 after a boozy 🍸 night on Saturday, takeaway 🥡 the day after, feeling sluggish on the Monday so training 🏋🏼♀️ is sacked off... 12 months later, you realise you're the only one in the office sweating after a short walk to the coffee machine. ☕️ Now, it feels like a massive effort getting fit again... You lost control. The good news? It works the other way around too! One good workout, you're less likely to make bad food choices. You sleep better, therefore you have more energy and fewer cravings. One morning you wake up looking like the Incredible Hulk! Ok the last one never happens, but you get the idea with spirals... You are ONE good choice away from a lifestyle you can be proud of. One, that shows a positive example to your children, your friends and even motivate Gary in the office to start living better!

April Recap We visited Manchester's Finest Group to set up a collab. (coming soon) We tried the new Myprotein shop on Mosley St for lunch. 😋 We had some work done on the decor in the gym. On of our members, Danny, did Hyrox Malaga. We gave out t-shirts for CONSISTENCY. Sara Oudafal, Hamish Jefford and Paula reached 100x PT sessions and Matt reached 250!!! 6x of our members competed in Hyrox Berlin and got much faster since Manchester in January. Abigail Varga and Lucy Patel teamed up fo the first time to talk Training, Nutrition, Lifestyle and more for women. We had amazing weather throughout...

⭐️Best Strength & Conditioning Gym - NW 2023 🏋🏻♂️Personal Training in Small Groups 👫Family Run, Independent est.2018 👋🏻DM ‘FIT’ to get started

It was 7 years ago, I decided I want I want to start a new business, a gym in Manchester City Centre to help office workers in their 30s and 40s as they were 90% of my cleintelle as a personal trainer. Abby laughed, she didn't undestand how, seeing we had about £1000 saved up... She wasn't wrong! Lol I didn't know anything about running a business of this size. No money, no business knowledge, no mentor... All I had was a lot of passion and the knowledge that I can help these people! So, me and Abby borrowed from our parents who always believed in us (even when they had no reason to) then we could approach the bank with the "our" little money pot to be able to borrow more, with ridicolous, criminal interest rates... Had no other option. P1 opened towards the end of 2018. We were so happy, I remember saying to Abby that it's been so hard securing the funding, the lease for the premises, building the place, etc, that surely it's going to get easier! As they say, that 'didn't age well' Since then, we've changed the model to be able to work with more people, we survived being shut for 10 months during the Covid years, went through the worst part (hopefully) of the Cost of Living crisis and battling people not returning to the offices still as well as fighting the truckload of shallow BS on social media that surrounds fitness... Many times, sitting at home with our cats 😸, drinking wine, exhausted physically, mentally and emotionally, we discussed how it must be getting easier soon... Still not happened yet! It's still frustratingly hard... ... but our plans are exponentially bigger too! We're looking to: ✅ Fill the gym full of members very soon ✅We're debating on expanding the gym to reach more people ✅Raising awereness around female hormone health, menopause, PCOS and more ✅Working with local businesses to achive a happier, healthier, stronger workforce ✅Got some more amazing projects with fantastic people that are a bit of a secret for now The point is, it never gets easier. You just get stronger!

Time The most common reason (excuse) we hear from people is the lack of time to workout. We think the main reason behind this is the fact socail media, the internet, Sue in the office would have you believe that upi must do a million things in order to get in shape. This is not true! It's all abouty spending your time wisely! 2x 45-50min sessions in P1 is possibly all it takes to put your life on a completly different trajectory! Two gym sessions a week is a small price to pay for: 🏝️ Having the confidence to take your top off on holiday 📦 To be able to carry boxes upstairs without breaking out in a sweat and be at a brink of a heart attack 👨👦👦 Or to be able to have a kick about, a bike ride or go trampolining with your children, grandchildren Get in touch, and we will show you how!

Have you ever stayed in shape permanently? For longer than 18 months for example as a minimum. (And not when you were a teenager without responsibilities) Not many have. Because to staying in shape permanently requires… Consistency - you can not stay in shape if you treat the gym and looking after yourself as an option. THERE IS NO OPTION, it must be a non-negotiable Find something you love - an absolute must if you want to stay in shape forever is to find an activity, a gym or a type of training that you enjoy People - a support system is vital to be able to stay on track while you build those habits. Later, it’s about being able to share fitness moments with people. A walk in the wild with your spouse, a gym session with mates or playing tennis with a co-worker And without those - all that happens is a life-long yo-yo dieting and training… You see, right now we’re working with 140 clients who are ALL about to unlock permanent results. Life-changing results. The results will stay… for good. We built P1 to be able to give our clients the consistency, enjoyment and people they need to truly change for good. Want me to share these with you also? So you can make 2024 the year of permanent change? Drop me a DM saying ‘CHANGE’ and I’ll shoot over the details for you.
