The ODBE annual service for school leaders was held at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, on 4 December. During the service, leaders re-committed to ensuring everyone at every school is valued and cherished, and pupils promised to treasure the opportunities they're given to grow and learn. Bishop Steven has urged the government to accelerate the just and fair transition to electric vehicles, in a take-note informal debate in the House of Lords last week. Passenger cars accounted for more than half the surface transport emissions in the UK, he said. These emissions contributed to the almost 30,000 deaths from air pollution every year. Bishop Steven also said that “forty per cent of the country will not have access to a home charging point. There is at present no viable solution to ensure parity...it will need some radical and imaginative thinking.
