A view from our CEO on the impact of the headline grabbing removal of private seller fees and a little insight into the more hidden benefit of 'closed loop' payments that have just been announced for eBay UK.
eBay UK announcing free fees for private sellers is a big move that mirrors a similar move in Germany last year. Read towards the bottom of the article and there is a gem of a benefit being released. The ability to use your 'eBay Balance' to shop on eBay is bigger news in my opinion. This is something I have been advocating for since the move to eBay managed payments. Whilst it doesn't grab the headlines the same it closes the loop in terms of funds 'escaping' back off of platform and will be a benefit not seen since Paypal powered payments on eBay. For me this is a bigger move and one which will benefit business sellers as there will be 'free' funds once again for consumers to use. https://lnkd.in/eH65aykQ
