During your internship you'll have the opportunity to gain experience in email marketing, newsletter creation, digital content writing, data analysis and more. The role will be 3 days per week (Mon/Tues/Wed) based in our Canary Wharf office or 5 days hybrid working (Thurs/Fri WFH). We're hiring! We're looking to hire a new Head of Conferences and Awards. Please have a read of the Job Description below: Objectives: The Head of Conferences and Awards has overall responsibility for all publication-led conferences and award ceremonies. These range from 300 attendees to nearly 1000 and up to c. £250,000 per event. The person will be directly responsible for content creation, operations, delegate revenue and awards ticket sales, with a dotted line to sponsorship and exhibition sales. The candidate must deliver a portfolio of conferences and awards that constantly meet and exceed attendee and financial targets whilst ensuring all stakeholder satisfaction levels remain high. Responsibilities: Always meeting current set objectives the role delivers consistently high-level content alongside innovative events, whilst bringing new and exciting people and topics to the fore. This role has budget responsibility for all events so includes venue and AV search and selection. Senior management: Part of the housing management team this role must also support collaboration across all of the wider housing management team. As a senior representative of Ocean Media the head of conferences and awards is a custodian of all external relationships and must always protect the brands they represent. Reporting and KPIs: Responsible for accurate budget reporting and setting clear KPIs for the conference and operations team. Formulating a process with the management team that ensures that all strategic aims are met. Person specification The person in this role must strive for excellence in all they do. Always adhering to Ocean Media's motto of 'together we succeed' they must have a passion for creating award-winning events whilst ensuring their people and customers are always at the forefront of all decision making. The applicant will have at least three years experience in a similar role and ideally have worked across housing, finance, government or built environment content previously. Ocean Media Group has an entrepreneurial spirit and this role requires a passion for growth and new launches. We offer excellence to our audiences, win many awards and always strive to do more. We also want a natural leader who encourages a team of direct reports to be passionate about all they do. Previous team leadership or management experience is essential.
