⚠️ We will never cold call members of the public to ask for donations. ⚠️ If you have received a call from someone posing as Citizens Advice staff asking for money, it is a scam. The holiday season sees a big increase in scam activity so remember to stay vigilant! Always look out for the following ⤵️ ✅ It seems too good to be true – for example, a holiday that’s much cheaper than you’d expect ✅ Someone you don’t know contacts you unexpectedly ✅ You suspect you’re not dealing with a real company – for example, if there’s no postal address ✅ You’ve been asked to transfer money quickly ✅ You've been asked to pay in an unusual way – for example, by iTunes vouchers or through a transfer service like MoneyGram or Western Union ✅ You’ve been asked to give away personal information like passwords or PINs ✅ You haven't had written confirmation of what's been agreed Help keep the public safe by reporting any scams to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040. We’re supporting the National Energy Action (NEA) #FuelPovertyAwarenessDay because vulnerable households are forced to choose between staying warm or falling into further debt. ⚠ Low-income energy customers are most likely to ration their energy, which can put their physical and mental health at risk. ♿ Disabled people’s energy bills are often higher than average because they may be unable to work or may have to spend additional time at home. Ofgem and the UK Government must work with the industry to help households repay energy debt, which will put money back into people’s pockets and support local economies.

On Monday, 25th November, Julia Greenaway (Centre Manager) and Deborah Parnell (Recruitment Consultant and Placement Officer) proudly represented Dereham Nova Training at the official opening of The Link – a transformative new community project in Dereham. The Link, officially opened by Lady Dannatt MBE, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk, aims to revolutionize community support through an integrated approach, empowering residents and enhancing access to vital services. The event was attended by local councillors, the Mayor of Dereham, and delegates from partnering organisations. Nova Training is proud to be a founding member of this initiative alongside Breckland Council, Norfolk Citizens Advice, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), The Boost Programme, and NHS Talking Therapies. At the event, each organisation shared insights into their services and how they’ll collaborate through The Link. Julia Greenaway connected with attendees, while Deborah Parnell delivered a compelling presentation on Nova Training’s offerings. Nova Training is thrilled to have a satellite desk at The Link, where we can meet learners, host confidential meetings, and deliver training sessions. This partnership marks an exciting step forward in providing accessible and impactful community support. The Link is open Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, offering vital services to the community.
