Mentoring can truly make a big difference during life transitions. It's great to see resources like this helping Soldiers and their families find guidance and support.
#ICYMI to help kick off National Mentoring Month... Finding a mentor is critical for Soldiers, veterans, and their family members when they are transitioning out of the Army, looking for a new job, or moving to a new community. Learn why a mentor is such an important part of their journey on page 5 of the December SFL Insights newsletter: https://lnkd.in/dHHGmJ-c. #SoldierForLife #USArmySFL #SFLInsights #MentoringMonth

Absolutely agree, Ginnie McDevitt. Knowing what you want to achieve is the first step to unlocking the full potential of mentorship.
To identify how a mentor can truly be helpful to you, start by understanding where you want to go and who you want to become. #leadershipskills #leadershipdevelopment #business

Mentorship has such a profound impact, and it's inspiring to see T-Mobile using technology to connect their team members across the country. Virtual mentorship is a powerful tool for fostering relationships and boosting retention.
Mentorship programs are a great way to help people establish relationships and build professional skills. And one global wireless giant found these programs can also be massive retention boosters. When T-Mobile merged with Sprint in April of 2022, HR leaders wanted employees on both sides to learn from each other. T-Mobile decided to use Chronus software, which it originally purchased to manage mentoring for ERGs, and began using it to help all employees find potential mentors. “When we joined together, we had over 70,000 dispersed across the United States in different places, so I saw this technology as a great opportunity to help bring people together virtually and to build those connections,” Cathy Nelson, senior manager of talent management at T-Mobile, tells Fortune. Absolutely Brian Elliott. Mentorship programs are a game-changer, whether in person or online. The stats speak for themselves—it's all about creating meaningful connections and trust. It's fantastic to see how mentorship is helping both frontline and office employees thrive.

Mentorship programs drive ~2X higher retention, and don't need to be done in-person. T-Mobile leveraged software to build a #mentorship program that brought together 2,000 employees distributed across the US after their acquisition of Sprint. Not just office workers, retail workers participated as well. The benefits: ☀️ 78% retention rate among participants, vs 41% for those that didn't. ☀️ 26% more likely to get promoted or a higher level job. What matters most in the great mentoring relationships that I've had are factors like trust (confidentiality, reliability), clear expectations, mutual commitment and two-way engagement -- not whether we were talking in the same office. Connection is lovely, but if you want people to thrive, especially in the pressures of today's workplace environment, mentorship programs matter more. Investing in them also clearly pays off in #frontline as well as office employees! Great work by Brit Morse at Fortune and huge thanks Catherine Moore Nelson at T-Mobile for sharing what you're learning. #retention #connection #mentor #distributed #hybrid #hybridwork #remote

Well said Christina Dowling SHRM-CP. Mentoring plays a huge role in fostering growth and connecting employees to the mission. Clear goals and the right skills can truly elevate a mentoring program and make a lasting impact.
A great mentoring program encourages growth, shares institutional knowledge, and helps employees feel more connected to your company’s mission. Are your mentors equipped with the skills to guide and inspire? Have you defined your program's goals and ensured mentees get hands-on experience? With clear objectives and thoughtful planning, mentoring can become a cornerstone of your talent strategy. #Leadership #Mentoring #SkillDevelopment https://lnkd.in/eFWEzwpS
From buzzwords to benefits: The real impact of employee mentoring

Absolutely love this perspective! Leadership is about embracing change, and mentoring provides the support needed to take those bold steps forward and make a real impact.
In the classic film "Rebel Without a Cause," we see a young leader stepping out of his comfort zone, ready to face challenges head-on. This iconic scene reminds us that true leadership often requires a rebellious spirit and the courage to break free from conventional boundaries. 🚀 In the corporate world, the most successful executives are those who aren't afraid to challenge the status quo. They understand that real growth happens when we step out of our comfort zones and embrace new, sometimes uncomfortable, paths. 🔍 Executive mentoring plays a pivotal role in this transformative journey. It provides leaders with the support and insights needed to navigate uncharted territories. With the guidance of a mentor, executives can explore innovative strategies, develop resilience, and cultivate a mindset geared towards continuous improvement. 🗣 A mentor helps leaders to see beyond immediate challenges, offering fresh perspectives and encouraging bold decision-making. This relationship fosters a culture of learning and adaptability, essential qualities for driving organizational success in today's fast-paced environment. 🌟 By embracing executive mentoring, leaders can unlock their full potential, inspire their teams, and drive meaningful change within their organizations. It's about cultivating the courage to lead with vision and passion, even when the path ahead seems daunting. Reflecting on this, how can stepping out of your comfort zone and embracing mentoring transform your leadership journey and impact your organization? 🌱 #LeadershipDevelopment #ExecutiveMentoring #OrganizationalGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment #MentorshipMatters #AIinEducation 🤖 #ElearningExperts 📚 #MasterCoach 💡 #LeadershipDevelopment 🌟 #DigitalLearningInnovation 🌐 #FutureofEducation 🚀 #CoachingSuccess 🏆 #EduTechTrends 📈 #LearningSolutions 👨🏫 #TransformativeCoaching 🔄 #mentoriaorganizacional #ibccoaching #sergiomentoria #tsergio_careercoach

Great points on the value of mentorship. It’s so true that when people connect meaningfully, both individuals and organizations grow together. Excited to see more companies embrace this powerful approach.
Mentorship is the secret weapon of elite organisations that most companies never unlock. Why is mentorship still important? When employees connect meaningfully: - They grow faster. Peer guidance unlocks new skills, instils confidence, and accelerates professional development. - They stay longer. Employees who feel valued and supported are more loyal, reducing costly turnover. According to a Leavitt Group insight, employees are 49% less likely to leave companies with mentoring programs. - They contribute fully. Inclusive mentorship creates spaces where everyone belongs, empowering high-performing individuals as mentors and encouraging a growth mindset for mentees. To create excitement around mentorship in your organisation, highlight these benefits [feel free to copy and paste this into your next company wide email]: 1. Master New Skills, Fast Imagine a workplace where knowledge flows like a river between talented colleagues. With a culture of learning, every conversation becomes a chance to develop cutting edge skills and game changing insights, all from the smartest resource you have: each other. 2. Build Confidence Through Team Growth Growth isn’t just about learning, it’s about applying what you’ve learned with boldness. Being a guide to others in your organisation empowers you to step out of your comfort zone, share expertise, and shine professionally. 3. Grow Your Network, Strengthen Innovation Mentorship isn’t just ‘skill sharing’, it’s relationship building. These connections lead to future collaborations, innovative solutions, and an invaluable internal network that fuels longterm success. 4. Stay Agile with Real-Time Support Nobody gets your challenges better than someone walking the same path. Guiding one another makes solutions practical, relevant, and instantly actionable. No more silos, just dynamic, real-world learning tailored for you.
