📢 🚌 Between Monday 9th December and Friday 13th December we're offering free travel on all of our buses after 7pm 🚌 📢 Working in partnership with Mayor of the West Midlands and West Midlands Combined Authority Chair Richard Parker, our region's residents and visitors heading out for some late-night Christmas shopping, a pantomime or a festive party can simply hop onboard without needing a ticket or a pass. This is a bold move for the West Midlands and the delivery of such a huge offer highlights the importance of bus services, while also supporting the region’s shops, restaurants, pubs, theatres and concert venues in the lead up to Christmas. Antony Goozee our Strategy and Commercial Director, said: “More people using buses is good for the economy, good for the environment and good for wider society and this exciting free travel offer is one of the ways that we’re working together to make it even cheaper and easier for people to travel by bus - there’s never been a better time to get onboard.” Find out more 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eDaKWSHc

We're pleased to share that we've just launched a six-month trial of a new seat, aimed at improving bus driver comfort, safety and inclusivity 🚌 💺 Jennifer Tocknell MBA, our Head of Operations and Safety Assurance, said: “We recognise how important it is to build working environments that are safe, welcoming and comfortable for anybody that works in or is considering a career in transport and we are proud to play a part in this trial. “Our drivers spend a large part of their day in the cab so it’s been a pleasure to work with them and our engineers, alongside Chapman Seating, to design a new driver seat that improves the level of comfort and inclusivity while out on the road. “This is just the first step in our collective pledge and we’re excited about working with Women in Transport and Women in Bus and Coach to continue making our industry even more inclusive for current and future colleagues in the West Midlands and across the UK.” 🔗 Read more in the Bus & Coach Buyer article below And if you're visiting the EURO BUS EXPO in Birmingham this week be sure to check out Thursday's 13:45 session with Women in Transport's D&I Lead Caroline Ward Jerry Smith Daljit Kalirai Kerri Cheek

We're really proud to be an official partner of Royal British Legion, especially so during Remembrance. That's why we're offering free travel on our bus services in the West Midlands and Coventry for poppy collectors and uniformed personnel to attend Remembrance Day services. And at 11:00am tomorrow we'd like you to join us in a moment of reflection and pause for a two-minute silence. Wherever possible and safe to do so, our buses may pull over or delay their departure as a mark of respect to those killed or injured in the defence of their country. We will remember them ❤️ #LestWeForget #RemembranceSunday #TwoMinuteSilence

A blueprint for successful electrification at scale – and a clear example of good partnership. Alongside the team at National Express Bus Coventry Richard Ball and Kate Reynolds FCIPR, Ian Allder and Ali Yarr had the pleasure of welcoming Mary Creagh CBE MP, Minister for Nature and Labour MP for Coventry East to the Coventry all electric depot. With solar panels on the roof, second-life EV batteries supporting the site, clean power procured to charge the buses and 140 silent EVs constantly on the move, the depot is a real vision of what’s possible when integrating clean power and transport. Recognising the significant impact this depot has on air quality and CO2 emissions, discussion turned to the practicalities of delivering electrification at this scale, the unique opportunity for Coventry as an all-electric city, and the importance of phasing the transition to bring people and operations up to speed. It’s a success story we’re proud to present alongside the team in Coventry – and something that can be replicated up and down the country with the right policy support. #electricbusdepot #electricbus #secondlifebattery #cleanpower #nationalexpress #coventry

Last Saturday, we saw the launch of our new matchday shuttle service, in partnership with Birmingham City FC 🚌 The service was a huge success, with over 1,100 fans using the shuttle to reach the stadium from the city centre. Feedback on the launch has been excellent, with fans commenting that it helps them get to the ground quicker and earlier, as well as being able to leave the car at home. A huge well done to our Birmingham Central garage team, who went above and beyond to make the operation a great success. The shuttle will be in place for all home games this season, continuing with tonight's fixture against Huddersfield Town ⚽
