To provide young carers with the support, friendship and opportunities that every child deserves.

About us

Sadie is twelve years old. Her mum is unwell, her dad's not around, and its Sadie's job to take care of her mum and little brother. But who takes care of Sadie? At MYTime, we work to provide Sadie and the other 800,000 young carers like her in the UK with the support, opportunities and friendship that every child deserves. Young carers are aged between 5 and 18, they are responsible for looking after relatives who may have a disability, illness mental health issue or a drug/alcohol problem. We believe that no child's destiny should be defined by their beginning, so we exist to champion this incredibly compassionate group of young people and to help them in every way we can to fulfil their full potential.

  • Welcome in the new year with a chilly challenge from MYTIME! There is still time to join our fundraisers who are braving the wave this 2025! 🌊
The aim is simple. Get in the sea, or other cold water sources every day this new year for 15, 31 or 50 days! Young carers work incredibly hard to take care of their loved ones. It is a 24/7 responsibility and on top of that they go to school, college, university or work. It’s just their way of life. Young carers can care for up to 50 hours a week for a loved one, so why not Brave the Wave this new year for 50 days in solidarity and support of these incredible young people. Visit https://lnkd.in/e3nYHtJB and join our very own Tim Sills and raise money to help support young carers while doing something immensely challenging but also amazing! You can also set up your sponsorship page here: https://lnkd.in/eJ_BNXxW

  • We did it! We have sent nearly 2000 gift bags to young carers across Dorset and the Isle of Wight, making Christmas that bit more special for these incredible young people who care for a loved one at home. Christmas can be especially hard for young carers. Often there are more people around or to visit, which can put a strain on caring responsibilities in this busy season. Our mission each Christmas is to make young carers feel special and seen by their communities. You can help is in our mission by donating £19, enough for us to provide one bag to a young carer this Christmas. https://lnkd.in/euvskuCe All funds we receive go directly into supporting young carers in our local community. 🕊️💝🙌

Looking for a challenge to start the new year.... Last year the genius that is Tim Sills came up with the idea of Brave the Wave for MYTIME Young Carers, and a group of 15 incredible (and very brave in my opinion!) individuals took a sea dip every day in January. They also raised a whopping £18,000 to support #youngcarers, which was a brilliant start to the year for the charity. The benefits of cold water swimming are well documented, and last year these guys became a wonderful community as well. So if you are looking to get the new year started with all the positive feels this could be the challenge for you. This year you can chose between taking on the challenge for 15 days, 31 days or even a whopping 50 for those of you who love it! If you fancy getting involved please let us know, or if this isn't quite the challenge for you- keep your eyes peeled as we have lots of opportunities to do something wonderful for yourself and for young carers coming up! #newyear #challenge #newyou #community #coldwaterswimming

  • 🌟 Helping Young Carers See What’s Possible 👇 What an incredible day for MYTIME employability students from The Blandford School! It was about gaining confidence, exploring opportunities, and seeing how their goals can become reality. 💚 First stop: Kingston Maurward College: Students explored fantastic facilities and learned about tailored support for young carers, showing them that further education is both accessible and achievable, giving them the tools to take the next step with confidence. 🍺 Next up: Hall & Woodhouse Brewery: They got an inside look at large-scale manufacturing and learned how values and vision drive success—encouraging them to think about their own goals and values and how to turn them into a future they can be proud of. 🍽️ And the perfect finish: Lunch & Q&A: Over a great meal, students connected with professionals and received valuable advice on careers, confidence, and navigating challenges. At MYTIME Young Carers, we’re dedicated to helping young carers develop their skills, see opportunities, and take charge of their futures through our Employability Programme. 👉 learn more about our programmes and how you can support young carers. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/g_hFtkdN Thank you, Kingston Maurward College and Hall & Woodhouse Brewery, for inspiring these amazing young people! #SupportYoungCarers #EmpoweringFutures #kingstonmaurwardcollege #hallandwoodhousebrewery
