🦃 At JN Bentley we’re proud of our long-standing tradition of offering a turkey to all our colleagues at Christmas. This year, an impressive 328 turkeys have been collected by staff, ready for the festive period. This wonderful tradition is a unique part of our heritage and continues to be a highlight of our year. 🙌 A huge thank you to NIDDERDALE POULTRY PRODUCTS LIMITED for consistently providing us with the best turkeys. Their quality and service are truly amazing, and we are grateful for their partnership year after year... 🎁 But it's not all about turkeys. For colleagues that chose not to have a turkey, they received an equally valuable gift: a supermarket voucher of their choice as a Christmas thank you. #EmployeeAppreciation #WorkplaceTraditions #StaffBenefits #CompanyCulture #SupportLocal

💧We're delighted to be working with Anglian Water Services to deliver their Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) programme and support brilliant community initiatives like this one. SuDS are an alternative way to manage surface water by reducing or delaying rainwater run off. They aim to mimic the way rainfall drains naturally rather than conventional piped methods, which cause problems such as flooding, pollution or damage to the environment. 🌧️🌱 #Sustainability #Drainage #WaterSector Anglian Water @one Alliance
As part of our Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) programme, we've teamed up with The Landscape Partnership & a local primary school in one of our communities to reduce their risk of flooding. Children from different year groups were invited to help our colleagues from Greenwillows Associates Ltd, to plant a range of flora including Stipa Tenuissma and Stachys Byzantina otherwise known as Ponytails and Lambs Ears in their new flower garden, fed by the new drainage system. Our site team have also installed a permeable walkway and planters throughout the play area, which will allow the water to reach the soil below instead of being trapped on the surface. SuDS schemes are an important part of our portfolio, as they reduce the amount of water being held at surface level, reducing the strain on Anglian Water Services networks and helping schools like this, stay flood free! #oneAlliance #AnglianWater #Planting #SuDS

🌳💧 Rooted in sustainability: celebrating our trees #NationalTreeWeek At Lower Gornal sewage treatment works we delivered a scheme with Severn Trent to improve the water quality, reducing phosphorus levels to meet new consents. The initial scope of the works was to construct assets in the woodland area by the entrance of the site. However, collaborative design discussions identified that the assets could be constructed within the footprint of a series of 3no. biofilters set to be demolished. By utilising the space within the operational site, we were able to reduce habitat loss and increase biodiversity value on site.
