We are an international charity and social enterprise, providing wheelchairs, training and services.

About us

Without a wheelchair, millions of disabled people in the developing world can’t leave their homes, go to school or find employment. Many feel isolated from their friends and family. Many lose their lives to preventable complications. Most live in extreme poverty. It doesn’t have to be this way. Motivation’s wheelchairs and services are creating a fairer society where everyone has the freedom to live the life they choose. We deliver the right wheelchair, the right way. We are making space for disability, are you? https://www.motivation.org.uk/

  • Only 48 hours left to double your impact this Christmas. 🌟 We have a matched donation for our Christmas Appeal fundraiser, but we need your help unlocking all the available funding. Our Christmas Appeal shares an emotional story of Agnes and her three-year-old grandchild, Charles. When Charles sadly lost both his parents early in life, Agnes lovingly took on the responsibility of caring for him. But it wasn’t an easy journey. It took two years before Charles was diagnosed with cerebral palsy after his symptoms began. Things changed for the better when Agnes participated in one of Motivation’s parent-carer training sessions. During these sessions, Agnes learned vital skills tailored to support Charles through exercises, feeding techniques, and hygiene care. Charles also received an appropriate wheelchair and food support, which made a huge difference to both of them. "The support has truly changed our lives, and I will always be grateful. I’m especially encouraged by the care and attention you’ve shown to Charles since the start of this project." - Agnes This Christmas with your support, we can fund more parent-carer training sessions for families like Agnes and Charles. And right now, your donation can go twice as far — all donations up to £10,000 will be matched! Don’t miss this chance to make twice the difference this Christmas. Donate now and help create a stronger, more inclusive future for disabled children like Charles. 🌟 Be part of the ripple effect. Please donate on our website. #DisabiltyInclusion #DisabilityRights #ChristmasFundraising #ChristmasAppeal #ChristmasCharity #MakeSpaceForDisability

Global Sports & Everyday Wheelchair Sales for Motivation Charity & Social Enterprise

Shot 📸 🏀 Just love this moment captured by Studio Manager at Michigan Photography Sydney Verlinde last year, I love me a score celebration and Sydney captured all the energy and joy. It shows head coach Jessica Wynne celebrating her basket as Michigan’s Eddie Elinburg (5 in yellow) and Tyrone Bradley (22 in blue) clean up during a wheelchair basketball open scrimmage at the Crisler Center, which has a beautiful wooden floored indoor basketball court with stadium seating. Check out more of Sydney's brilliant shots here https://lnkd.in/eUw-ht8X Jessica powers a Motivation International Multisport wheelchair, designed in collaboration with the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) to enable more people to access their right to play all over the world. They are designed and built to be shared by different players, are low cost, easy to maintain and whats more the profit from global sales helps fund our activity, enabling people to access their mobility as a right! Thank you to everyone who orders, plays, coaches from, maintains and get folks onto the court with these entry level sports wheelchairs as well as shooting the action as Sydney has. #Ballers #Basketball #WheelchairBasketball #Michigan #USA #mymotivationwheelchair

  • Real voices, real experiences. The Imara (meaning “Strong” in Swahili) will be the first bespoke wheelchair to roll off the manufacturing lines in 2025. It’s part of our pioneering Made AT Kenya project, which aims to revolutionise wheelchair accessibility in Kenya by creating a sustainable supply model for the country. The Imara wheelchair was designed with Kenyans, for Kenyans—focusing on durability, affordability, and real-world functionality. The design process has been extensive, involving significant trialling and testing by our Peer Trainers, all wheelchair users. We extend our thanks to them. What do users say about the Imara? During user trials, the Imara received outstanding feedback, described as: ✔️ Manoeuvrable ✔️ Comfortable ✔️ Adjustable ✔️ Lightweight ✔️ Improved ✔️ Durable ✔️ Admired ✔️ Stable ✔️ Easy ✔️ Fast 👉 Learn more about the Made AT Kenya project here: https://lnkd.in/eHfQ2-xU #WheelchairAccess #AssisitiveTechnology #DisabilityInclusion #DisabilityRights #InclusiveWorld #MakeaDifference #ChangeMakers #MakeSpaceforDisability #DisabilityAwareness #WheelchairService #DisabilityCharity
