  • Celebrating Our Most-Read Article of the Year: Mobilise Assistant: Your New Trusted Ally in Caring. Written by Director of Marketing and Product, Joe Legate This year, our most-read article on Medium highlighted a transformative innovation for unpaid carers: Mobilise Assistant. We're thrilled to revisit this topic and share why it continues to make a difference every day. Unpaid carers often face challenges that extend beyond conventional hours, which is why Mobilise Assistant is available 24/7. Combining advanced AI capabilities with empathy, it offers real-time support, tailored advice, and access to resources whenever carers need it most. Knowledge and compassion in harmony Mobilise Assistant is more than just a chatbot. It's an expertly trained tool that draws from over 300 pages of curated Mobilise content to address the unique needs of unpaid carers. Whether it’s navigating financial benefits, how to take a break, or accessing local resources, the assistant provides practical guidance - personalised based on where they live. Prioritising safety and support Mobilise Assistant is designed with two vital safeguards: Emergency support: Immediate redirection to emergency resources when needed. Expert human backup: Complex or sensitive queries are escalated to our experienced Carer Support Team - who truly understand the complexities carers face as they are carers themselves. Localised, relevant answers Mobilise Assistant doesn’t just provide generic advice; it adapts to regional contexts. For example, carers in Central Bedfordshire learn about local grants alongside national support options. This ensures that carers get the most relevant help available. Insights that drive change The data from Mobilise Assistant also offers invaluable insights into the most pressing concerns for unpaid carers, helping us to better understand and respond to carers needs. The top themes include financial support, respite, and Carer’s Allowance. Empowering our team Even our Carer Support Team uses Mobilise Assistant to enhance their responses. It provides an extra layer of support, helping our team craft thoughtful, comprehensive replies to complex queries. Looking ahead As we continue to refine Mobilise Assistant, we’re excited about future collaborations with local authorities and other organisations. Together, we can ensure more carers receive the support they deserve. 👉 Read the full article on Medium: https://lnkd.in/detWdN2c What are your thoughts on utilising AI to improve carer support? #AI #CarerSupport #InnovationInCare

Reassuring to see unpaid carers feature prominently here in James Bullion's review of the themes coming out of CQC Assessment. James identifies three key points of focus of learning 👉 Identification 📈 Better services and facilities ⏱️ More timely assessments With a creative mindset and innovative use of technology there's plenty we can do to address all three of these - it's great to see some trailblazing projects funded by the Accelerating Reform Fund generate the case studies that will form the evidence base for anybody looking to think radically. In the new year Mobilise | B Corp will be releasing our own analysis of the Care Quality Commission assessment reports with a specific focus on unpaid carers - do drop us a follow if you don't want to miss out. https://lnkd.in/e8vapM8m

  • Taking care of someone often means dealing with lots of different, and sometimes difficult, emotions. But a big one, that can sneak up on #carers, is #grief. As we approach Christmas, feelings of grief can often intensify. This time of year may remind us of the life we had before caring, the future we imagined, or changes in our relationships. For many carers, the holiday season can highlight loss and bring a mix of emotions. Grief isn’t just about death – carers often grieve throughout their journey, experiencing waves of emotion as circumstances change. It’s complex and rarely linear. You can find all of our support on grief in one easy-to-navigate page. https://lnkd.in/ev8qU3JF Please feel free to share this with carers who may be experiencing grief in your community.

  • After the Mobilise elves had finished writing out the (nearly 200) anonymous messages for the carer's Christmas cards, we took a well-earned break to celebrate the season with a Christmas meal and evening of board games. 🌟 As we wrap up the year, we’re feeling grateful for the incredible work everyone has done to support carers in our community. Taking moments like these to recharge and reflect makes all the difference. Here’s to more laughter, teamwork, and a festive season full of joy! How are you celebrating the season with your team? • We work to provide the best possible support for unpaid carers. But when it comes to truly understanding their needs, there's one voice we should always listen to: their own. 💬 That’s why we create content co-produced with carers themselves. This ranges from adding top tips and quotes from carers into our content, including video clips of carers who have been guests on our Mobilise:LIVE events, or co-writing a whole blog with a carer from our community. 💬 Why is this so important? 1️⃣ Authenticity builds connection Carers often feel isolated, but hearing directly from someone who shares their experiences can make them feel less alone. There’s something uniquely powerful about words that come from someone who is living through the same thing you are. 2️⃣ Peer-to-peer support can be transformative When carers share their stories, they’re not just communicating - they’re offering peer support. It validates others’ feelings and provides practical advice that often only comes from lived experience. Carers can feel more driven to act on tips from those they see as peers. 3️⃣ Amplifying the value in their stories Unpaid carers tend to see themselves as just people struggling through a challenging situation. They don't give themselves credit for all they are learning and overcoming. Asking carers to share their journey can show them that their story matters, and that their experiences can make a real difference for others. Let’s commit to creating more spaces where carers are included in actively shaping the narrative of carer support, and supporting each other. Co-production isn’t just a buzzword - it’s the foundation for impactful, inclusive support. What are your thoughts? Are you seeing carers voices included more in carer support? Find two of our recent co-produced carer stories in the comments. #CoProduction #PeerSupport #SocialCare #CarersVoices

  • 💡 Are you ready to rethink how we support carers? Our Product Manager, Claire Cook sheds light on an urgent challenge in her latest blog: https://lnkd.in/exXXMXPX Between 400,000 and 500,000 carers are waiting for an assessment, review, direct payment, or care package at any one time. And with the number of unpaid carers expected to rise by 1 million in the next decade, current systems simply can’t keep up. But there’s hope — Claire explores how AI-driven Carers Assessments could revolutionise support by: ✅ Clearing backlogs with faster, on-demand assessments ✅ Providing tailored, evolving support plans ✅ Freeing up social workers to focus on the more complex cases ✨ With early pilots of our new AI tool showing promise in Bristol and Surrey, this could be a game changer for unpaid carers across the UK. #SocialCare #Innovation #CarersSupport #AI
