Seasons Greetings, and thank you to everyone who has made 2024 at Minster a wonderful year. We're looking forward to the new year and would like to wish everyone a happy 2025!
About us
We’re a leading provider of legal services to the insurance industry and their customers, with specialisms in road traffic accidents, serious injury, bike accidents, and accidents at work. We’re not exactly a traditional law firm and we take pride in the fact we do things differently. We look forwards, not backward, because we know that the traditional ways of working don’t work for everyone. We challenge every assumption as we work to reimagine every aspect of legal services. We choose the smart way over the standard way, drawing on years of experience, whilst embracing the latest trends, to keep moving forward. This applies as much to our people as it does to our customers. We harness skills from all industries, not just the legal sector, to allow us to create a team with the ability to deliver at a market-leading level – and it’s precisely this type of diversity of skills, thought, people, and backgrounds that make our business what it is. We’re on a mission to be the leading legal services provider for insurers in the market. At its heart, we believe our business is about helping people and creating outcomes that matter. We know we have to do things differently and have the best people on board to achieve this. This is why we’re committed to creating a working environment and culture that is open and empowers our colleagues, where everyone feels supported and can be their best selves.

This morning, the government released its much-anticipated response to the July 2023 consultation on the medical reporting process for road traffic accident (RTA) claims. Here are the key takeaways: Increase in FCMR Using SPPI The Fixed Cost Medical Report (FCMR) will see an increase based on the SPPI inflationary measure, with implementation planned for 2025. The government will publish revised figures after a short, targeted consultation on secondary legislative changes. Stricter MedCo Tier 1 Criteria New qualifying criteria will make achieving tier 1 MedCo status more challenging, with changes also set for 2025. No Return to Remote Examinations The government supports MedCo’s decision to maintain a ban on remote examinations, aligning with general medical opinion on soft tissue injury assessments. Remote examinations remain permissible in specific, exceptional circumstances.
