We’ve nailed our first year at Ministry of Work but now it’s time for something bold. Our private offices are full and our coworking space is booming, so why change everything? We opened our doors in January following a £1m transformation of this 19th century chapel in Manchester. Our advisors at the time said we should make it a cheap and cheerful workspace - ‘appeal to the mass coworking market’. We had other ideas. Looking back, it was a bit of a gamble. We went all in - blew the budget by a fair whack and bet big on quality. Was it a risk? Hell yeah. But over the past 12 months, something really interesting has happened - organically too. We’ve started pulling in a very particular crowd: seasoned business owners. Not fresh-faced freelancers or “wannapreneurs” – we’re talking real deal entrepreneurs. People with offices and employees in the city centre, who come here to escape the chaos of their city-centre offices and for a break from their commute. Or people that typically work from home and have remote workers - but they’re coming here to ditch the distractions at home. What keeps them coming back isn’t just the space, the meeting rooms, or the free parking (though those don’t hurt). It’s the people. Frank conversations with other ambitious leaders. No fluff, no corporate buzzwords – just proper advice from folks who’ve been there, done that, and won’t BS you. So, what’s the bold change for this year? This month, we’re stepping away from the coworking label and turning this place into something much more intentional: a private ‘Work Club’, exclusively for founders and business leaders. Work Clubs are a pretty new concept. We’ve seen them popping up and working so well in other cities - and it’s time Manchester caught up. More than just a desk to work at. But an intentional platform for real growth, real collaboration and a decent chunk of inspiration. So going forward, we’ll offer: • Exclusive membership: A more targeted approach to bringing in high-performing individuals. • Greater value: Events, think tanks, and networking opportunities designed for business leaders and founders. • A unique community: A more curated membership focused on high performers and ambitious entrepreneurs, where members share goals, challenges, and successes in an ecosystem that’s built to help them grow. Membership won’t be for everyone. It isn’t intended to be. We’re introducing a bit of a suitability criteria — not to make it fancy, but to keep the community strong and focused. This is about quality over quantity, and protecting the magic we’ve already built. So, if you’re in or around Manchester and fancy being part of something a little more exclusive, where our sole goal will be to help your business grow? DM us.

A private work club for Greater Manchester’s most ambitious entrepreneurs and business leaders.
About us
A private work club for Greater Manchester’s most ambitious entrepreneurs and business leaders. --------------- Designed by business leaders for business leaders, Ministry of Work is pioneering the concept of a ‘third space’ for Greater Manchester. A space curated with you in mind – away from the interruptions of your office and the distractions of home. Where candid conversations on business challenges are the norm and you can plan your success alongside other ambitious leaders, without being sold to. Set within a beautiful old chapel, originally built in 1891, our strictly limited membership is a world away from traditional networking, inefficient workspaces and awkward meetings in hotel lobbies or coffee shops. 📔 Collaborate with the ‘who’s who’ of the region's top business leaders ⛪️ Exclusive access to a luxury, distraction-free, workspace 🧠 Curated events & initiatives, to stimulate your personal & business growth We are the region’s most exclusive business community, reserved for our most ambitious founders, entrepreneurs, and executives. Created by founder Eddie Whittingham (previous exit to a NASDAQ-listed company), we are reimagining a ‘third workspace’ where you can be surrounded by like-minded business leaders. We’re perfectly located away from your usual distractions, complete with free parking and premium amenities, in a building designed more like a ‘work spa’ than a workplace. #thisistheplace

Need a space away from the usual noise and distractions? Did you know we have a private office available to book by the day? Free cake included too (if you land on the right day!).
🚶♀️➡️ STEPPING OUT ... of your business is crucial in order to get properly into the nitty gritty. Earlier on in the week, I spent some time with the lovely Jenny Lowthrop. We spent the day working on our individual businesses and mapping out goals for the year ahead. We helped each other through problem areas, held each other accountable, challenged each other and had a good natter in between! There were post it notes, pens and cake! What more do you need?! Jen and I are also working on an exciting secret collaboration for 2025! We used the brilliant Ministry of Work for the day, made to feel so welcome, a lovely space AND I managed to book in on cake day AGAIN (coincidence?!) #businessdevelopment #startegyplanning #businesssupport #coworking

🌿 Did you know our coworking space is home to over 50 real, thriving plants? 🌱 These green beauties aren’t just here for aesthetics—they’re working hard to make our environment better for or members. Here’s why we having so many plants around makes a big difference: 🌬️ Cleaner Air: Plants naturally filter toxins, improving indoor air quality and making it easier to breathe. 🧘 Reduced Stress: Studies show that being around greenery can reduce stress levels, helping you feel calmer and more focused throughout the day. 💡 Boosted Creativity: Green spaces are known to inspire creative thinking. Whether brainstorming ideas or solving problems, plants can help you think outside the box. 💪 Better Productivity: Plants have been shown to improve focus and boost productivity—perfect for those days when you need to power through your to-do list. #CoworkingSpace #OfficePlants #GreenWorkspace #ProductiveSpace #WorkspaceWellness #IndoorPlants #PlantLovers #CoworkingCommunity #AirPurifying #CreativityBoost #EcoFriendlyOffice #BiophilicDesign #PlantPowered

When you can work from anywhere, where do you actually want to work? Wherever you end up, a workspace should never be just a place to sit with your laptop, tap out your work and down a cup of unsatisfying coffee every few hours until the clock ticks 5. It should be a space that kicks your brain into gear, connects you with people worth knowing, and makes collaboration easy. The right workspace should nurture your growth - personally and professionally. If it’s not doing that, then it’s just a desk with a WiFi password. So, tell us: what’s your worst office or co-working horror story? #coworking #workspace #community

How time flies… This time last year, it felt like a lifetime until we’d see the space finished to the spec we’d dreamt up in our heads. Yet, here we are 12-months on from the first picture - private offices filled and a bustling community of startups and entrepreneurs throughout the building 😍 #renovation #beforeandafter #12monthson #community #workspace
