The Charitable Incorporated Organisation is dedicated to providing specialist mesothelioma information, support and education, and to improving care and treatment for all UK mesothelioma patients and their carers. Last year, our nurses attended 269 support groups – a safe space where mesothelioma patients and their families can not only ask clinical questions about their disease, but also share experiences, stories (and a laugh) with a group of people who know exactly how each other feels. You can find your local support group on our website here: https://lnkd.in/emBiXUfK #MesotheliomaUK #SupportGroups

On 25 November, Liam Bradley, Mike Goodchild and Rob Juby set off on a 140-mile route to raise awareness of mesothelioma and vital funds for Mesothelioma UK. Accompanied by friends and colleagues at various points along the way, they set off from Portman Road, home of Ipswich Town Football Club to Nottingham Forest’s City Ground, arriving on Saturday 30 November in time for the Premier League game between the two sides. Through donations, a Forest signed shirt raffle and a bucket collection on matchday – an amazing £12,114.72 & £2,084.75 in Gift Aid was raised. Thank you so much to the team at READLEY for their kind words as one of our much appreciated partner funders. This proud partnership has allowed for both nursing and benefits experts to be on hand in the north east - one of those regions steeped in history of heavy industry and with a resulting high incidence of mesothelioma. #MesotheliomaNurse #SupportingNurses #AppreciationPost

Mesothelioma UK are hosting a webinar looking at all aspects of travelling with mesothelioma. · What to consider when deciding the destination and type of holiday to book · Travel insurance – how to find adequate cover at the best price · What about travelling with medication or if I need medication when I get there The webinar is being hosted in partnership with Insurancewith, experts in providing travel insurance to those with rarer medical conditions. They have worked in partnership with Mesothelioma UK to produce a specific set of medical screening questions for mesothelioma patients, ensuring more accurate assessment of risk resulting in a more favourable price. Fiona MacRae set up the company after she found getting reasonably priced / accurate travel insurance a real struggle when she herself received a cancer diagnosis. Some of our Mesothelioma UK nurses will also be on the webinar to answer any questions that are mesothelioma specific. Questions can be submitted ahead of the Webinar (once you have registered) or asked at the event. When: Wednesday 8 January 2025 at 6pm How do I Join? You need to register for a FREE PLACE at https://lnkd.in/ejk57gar Once you have registered, we will send you details of how to join along with regular reminders.
