Wine & Spirits

Wine tastings, masterclasses, WSET qualifications and corporate events.

About us

Owned by award-winning wine writer Simon Woods, we host wine tastings, masterclasses and professional training courses. We are one of Manchester's leading approved programme providers for WSET qualifications for wine industry professionals and enthusiastic amateurs. We also host fun and informal wine tastings across Greater Manchester and beyond, for people who enjoy wine and would like to learn more about it. No previous wine tasting experience is necessary and we do not try to sell you wine at the end of our events. Have you thought about a wine tasting in Manchester as a corporate client entertainment event or a social wine tasting event for colleagues? We can come to you, or assist in finding a venue to hold your corporate wine tasting event. We are the national contract holder for Marks and Spencer Wine Club tastings. Our experience extends to hosting corporate wine tasting events across Greater Manchester for companies such as Pinsent Masons, Laing O’Rourke, BT, The Telegraph, and Bentley Motors. We can create an event tailored to suit your specific requirements and ensure an enjoyable time for all.

Updates

  • It’s our Sauvignon and Malbec jamboree on April 27th, timed to fall between Malbec World Day (April 17th) and International Sauvignon Blanc Day (May 6th). It’s a day when we try (at least) six examples of each grape to see how the French role models stand up to the imitators from other parts of the world, with the only interruption being a two-course lunch at Malmaison.   A week or so ago, it was definitely Sauvignon weather, but as I sit typing in soggy Saddleworth, today has much more of a Malbec mood. So which of these two statuesque reds do you think will get the public vote on the 27th? Will it be the French contender, from arguably the leading estate in Cahors, produced using fruit from 100-year-old vines? Or will it be its Argentine rival from the Uco Valley in Mendoza, from an estate founded by the late Benjamin de Rothschild, part-owner of Château Lafite -Rothschild, and billionaire businessman Laurent Dassault?   Whichever comes out on top, we’re expecting it to be a great day, and we’d love it if you could join us. Twelve wines + lunch, all for just £95. Click the link to book your space. https://lnkd.in/eHYW-taN
