Madaster's award-winning platform efficiently creates material passports and unlocks insights about your portfolio.

About us

Madaster’s award-winning platform enables you to effortlessly create and easily manage material passports for your construction products, development projects or property portfolio and use these to unlock environmental and financial insights that can support data-driven decision making and compliance reporting. One of the key barriers to a circular built environment is not knowing what is in an existing asset when it comes to point of refurbishment. Through material passports you are enabling materials and products to retain their identity and therefore enhance the chance of them being managed in a circular way through life extention, reuse or recycling. In addition, the transparency and connection provided by passports facilitate the adoption of more circular business models such Product as a Service, take back, buy back or remanufacturing schemes. Our proven solution has been continuously developed over the past 7 years and is used by over 620 organisations across Europe including manufacturers, designers, constructors, developers, asset owners and their advisors. Our BIM and API integration capabilities allow for the efficient generation, consistent reporting and automatic aggregation of material passport information and resulting KPIs across multiple assets. We are more than just a data platform, we are impact driven and our operations are overseen by a not-for profit Foundation. The Madaster Network provides knowledge sharing and peer support, though a programme of events as we seek to foster the collaborative ecosystem required to achieve a circular built environment. We are future-proofed, continually evolving our offer to adapt to our customers’ needs and the changing market and regulatory landscape so you can be sure that you will be aligned with any emerging requirements. • What would it take to decarbonize the buildings we live, work, and dream in? The World Green Building Council’s 2019 roadmap offers a bold vision: - 40% less embodied carbon by 2030 - Net zero emissions by 2050 But here’s the challenge: buildings contribute 39% of global carbon emissions, with 11% tied to the materials and construction processes. Tackling this head-on is critical as global building stock is set to double by 2060. Here’s how we can lead the change: ✅ Use low-carbon materials ✅ Adopt circular business models ✅ Prioritize renovation over demolition Cities like Oslo and Vancouver are already showing us what’s possible through fossil-free construction initiatives. The takeaway? Real progress happens when governments, designers, investors, and suppliers collaborate. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻: What’s one strategy or solution you’ve seen that’s driving impact in the building sector? Share your insights, we’d love to learn from you. • What’s driving the shift toward a sustainable built environment? At the recent Madaster Connect 2024 Summit, industry leaders came together to discuss how circularity and material passports are transforming construction and real estate. The results? Inspiring initiatives that are already making a difference. - ReLondon is exploring reuse hubs and advising on planning policies to enable circular supply chains across London. - UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) is promoting material passports and fostering collaboration through its Circular Economy Forum. - Circular Buildings Coalition (CBC) is breaking barriers with standardised terminology and insurance models for reclaimed materials. - LETI is proposing metrics to quantify the impact of circular initiatives, making progress measurable. - BUILDZERO is undertaking a mapping exercise to optimise resources across the UK’s building stock. - Lancaster University is evaluating material passport platforms to support traceability and reuse throughout a building’s lifecycle. - UCL’s Building Passport Alignment Project is standardizing ESG reporting and data exchange to enhance collaboration globally. These organizations are not just imagining a circular future, they’re building it. 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆?
