Frank is nothing short of a titan in the property finance industry, bringing with him an extraordinary wealth of experience and a proven track record of success and innovation.   Frank spent 27 years at Close Brothers Group, where he built and led their property lending division, transforming it from a small team of 5 with a £40m loan book into an industry powerhouse with over 100 people and a £1.7bn loan book, financing around 7,000 new homes annually across the UK. We are delighted to announce that we have just exchanged contracts on a new site in Ringmer, Lewes which benefits from a detailed planning consent for 70 new homes. This marks a significant milestone for Macar Homes as this site is more than double the size of any site we have previously developed.   What is particularly rewarding about this project is how it came about. After a national house builder failed to exchange on the site in the agreed timeframe, we were able to step in and transact on the deal in just three weeks. Previous CEO of Stonebond joins Surrey Based Developer, Macar Homes Andrew Cornelius, the previous CEO of Stonebond, the Cherry family-owned partnerships builder, has joined Surrey based developer, Macar Homes as joint CFO & COO. Andrew joins the CEO and founder, Alex MacDonald who founded Macar Homes in 2017, a mixed-tenure developer, delivering high quality, sustainable private and affordable homes across Surrey, Sussex & Kent. During his career, Andrew has been mentored by some of the industry titans, including Tony Pidgley and Rob Perrins whilst at Berkeley Group and Richard and Graham Cherry, at both Countryside Properties (now Vistry) and Stonebond. During his tenure at Stonebond, he led the growth of the business from c. £20m of revenues in 2019 to an expected c. £150m of revenues in 2024, establishing six regional operations. Andrew joins Macar at a pivotal moment as the business looks to scale up its operations with a number of recent site starts in Kingswood, Oxshott, Kenley and shortly in East Grinstead.
