📢 A Sustainability First at 30 Duke Street St James's 🌍 We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Mace, OAG Ltd, and Norsk Hydro on the next phase of 30 Duke Street St James’s – a project that sets new benchmarks for sustainable development in the UK. This state-of-the-art office and retail development is pioneering the use of Hydro CIRCAL 100R—aluminium made from 100% recycled post-consumer scrap material—making it the first commercial development in the UK to deliver this groundbreaking material. Hydro CIRCAL 100R represents a breakthrough in recycled aluminium, with a near-zero carbon footprint (0.417 kg CO₂e per kg of aluminium), which is 94% lower than the global average for primary aluminium. Via this partnership, we aim for 81% of the aluminium used to be Hydro’s CIRCAL 100R, which will deliver a 82t CO₂e saving compared to standard aluminium. 🌱 Did you know at 30 Duke Street St James’s 🔹 We’re reusing nearly 450 tonnes of reclaimed steel which will generate approx. 755t CO₂e savings 🔹 33,645 kg of the existing Portland stone will be re-used avoiding almost 62,000kg of new stone being excavated 🔹 Via the Saint-Gobain Glass Forever Scheme we’re recycling 30 tonnes of glass. All new windows will be glazed with Saint-Gobain ORAE recycled glass. 🔹 Targets include BREEAM Outstanding, WELL Platinum, and NABERS UK 5 stars and a fossil fuel-free, fully electric design. With Mace as the principal contractor, designed by Make Architects in collaboration with Elliott Wood and Hoare Lea, this circular and carbon-efficient development establishes new sustainability benchmarks, serving as a model for future projects focused on circular economy principles and environmental responsibility. Our One Exchange Square project recently achieved a big milestone, with the first phases of the new West extension now underway! 🏗️   The innovative structural design will extend the Western elevation by 6 metres, increasing area and delivering a striking architectural addition to Exchange Square. All of this whilst retaining the buildings existing foundations and reusing 90% of the buildings existing structure!   Keep your eyes peeled over the coming weeks as the exoskeleton climbs up to level 12. This year 8 of us at M3 Consulting are proud to be partaking in Movember. While we have only grown half a moustache between 8 of us within the past 2 weeks, I’m hopeful that something miraculous happens in the 11 days remaining [although it’s highly unlikely]. Since 2003, Movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, and shaking up men’s health research. Exciting news for the future of life sciences in Whitechapel!   We are thrilled that NHS Property Services received approval from the London Borough of Tower Hamlets’ Strategic Development Committee to create a cutting-edge life sciences cluster in Whitechapel, next to the Royal London Hospital. M3 Consulting is incredibly proud to have supported NHS PS throughout this process, providing Development Management services through feasibility, design and planning to help bring this exciting vision to life.   This transformative project will turn five underused plots into flexible, high-quality spaces for life science, fostering research that tackles health inequalities.
