Yesterday morning, I had a mid-morning break. And had a KitKat. Naturally. I also used the time to leverage our Luscid platform and analyse the recent partnership announced between the global chocolate brand and Formula 1 It’s a high-profile partnership that has dominated my social media feed this week, but as usual, I have seen more subjectivity than you would see around any other marketing investment announcement. My analysis was, of course, an illustrative one. And helped along by 1 or 2 assumptions plus a helping of AI insight! But when building a global audience (based on active consumer behaviour across 52 countries) and a lock up of 7 brand values that are prominent around the brand website – the results were interesting to say the least: 🏎 Formula 1 scored 33.3% stronger than the average of 89 passion points in delivering an optimised partnership solution. 📊 This places it 13th out of 89 genres – with Soccer leading the way with a score of 226 (126% stronger than average). Cycling, Basketball and Live Music also score very strongly. 👨👩👧👦 From a reach perspective, the sport can get the brand in front of 19.6% of its target audience. 🔔 In terms of Brand Value Engagement, I measured alignment with Innovation, Education, Fun, Inclusivity, Sustainability, Community and Charity and Accessibility. Formula 1 was 60.2% stronger than the average sporting property at providing potential engagement around these values. But was it the BEST option out of nearly 10,000 in our platform? Well, without fully understanding the brief, it’s impossible to say with total certainty. But I took the time to explore our platform’s number 1 property at an optimised budget point for a mid-tier package of assets – La Liga: ⚽ Soccer scores 126% stronger as a partnership destination 🇪🇸 La Liga can reach 29.1% of the brands target audience 🔔 The property is 67.1% stronger at delivering potential brand engagement around my selected brand values. I’m off to finish the last two fingers of my KitKat. And in the meantime, leave everyone to consider the fact that for every sponsorship brief a brand decision-maker creates, there will be many potential directions and solutions. Finding the right one doesn’t need to be left to subjective thought.
