🛩️ Loop Technology are thrilled to be selected as finalists for the JEC Group Innovation Awards 2025! Our FibreLINE system, delivering end-to-end automation for composite preforming, has made the final three within the ‘Aerospace-Process’ category. 🌍 The JEC Composites Innovation Awards identify and reward the most innovative composite solutions worldwide, having involved more than 2,100 companies over the last 27 years. ✈️ FibreLINE is a revolutionary product that facilitates the high-rate manufacturing of composite aerostructures such as aircraft wings and fuselage sections as well as smaller components such as fairings, ailerons, nacelles, cowlings and wing tips. It automates the cutting, sorting and sequencing of carbon fibre and other composite material before shaping and placing it onto the designated mould where it is inspected and heat staked, made ready for the next stage of production. 🙂 Thank you very much to our recognized partners at the National Composites Centre, FANUC Europe, Zund UK and Güdel Group. Robotmaster makes robotic programming quicker and easier meaning you no longer need to be a specialist with years of experience to program robots and automate tasks such as cutting, drilling, welding, spraying and 3D printing. It provides an offline simulation environment where complex manufacturing tasks can be automated independently from the robots- no need for downtime and stopping the production line. It creates accurate robotic trajectories without time consuming teaching points whilst optimisation features address singularities, calibrations, collisions and reach limitation issues. We used Robotmaster to program RoboMACH HA for automated trimming of Solidwool composite material, as seen below! 💫 The construction of our latest FibreLINE is a tremendously exciting and groundbreaking project, with the delivery of some truly substantial equipment to the Loop Technology Centre. We recorded a timelapse video of our fantastic team bringing all this machinery together- check it out below! 🛩️ FibreLINE is an end-to-end automated preforming system that revolutionises the manufacture of composite structures. This configuration offers a material deposition rate of up to 200 kg per hour, a step change from current state of the art. It started with the delivery of a 21 metre Güdel Group TMF-6 track back in April and then 2 FANUC Europe M-2000iAs in May, including the strongest long reach robot in the world! It includes the building of FibreFORM, our unique composite pick and place end effector that carefully manipulates large composite plys into complex 3D shapes for precise layup onto the designated mould.
