Updates

  • We had this lovely feedback from a delegate recently, which really shows the importance of being mindful of differing needs and experiences in the training environment. Our ISVA Development Programme, along with all of our courses, is thoughtfully developed to be inclusive and accessible to all participants. It ensures that everyone, regardless of their background or learning needs, can fully engage with and enjoy the benefits of the training. Each of the 6 modules features a comprehensive and challenging syllabus delivered in a safe environment, empowering ISVAs to deliver their role effectively and also apply the principles of inclusivity and accessibility to the support they provide survivors. Bookings are open for the next cohort starting 10th March. Apply at the link: https://lnkd.in/g_rwRS2v

🚨 HR Professionals: We Need Your Input! 🚨 At LimeCulture, we've identified a gap in the training available for HR professionals when it comes to managing sexual misconduct cases. To complement our existing trauma-informed training for Investigators and Disciplinary Panel Members, we want to develop a course specifically tailored to meet the unique needs of HR professionals in this area. We know how important it is for HR teams to be equipped with the right skills and knowledge to handle sensitive cases effectively, and we'd love your input to make sure we're covering all the critical aspects. 👥 HR Advisers & Professionals: What specific training do you feel is necessary to help you manage sexual misconduct cases with confidence and compassion? What skills, resources, or knowledge would be most valuable for your role? Please drop your thoughts in the comments below, and don’t forget to share this with your HR colleagues to help us get a broad perspective. Together, we can create a supportive, informed, and trauma-informed workplace for everyone. #HR #SexualMisconduct #TraumaInformedTraining #HRTraining #WorkplaceSafety #HumanResources #HRProfessionals #EmployeeWellbeing #SexualHarassment

  • 🔑 New Legal Duties for Employers to Prevent Sexual Harassment 🔑 With the Worker Protection Act (Amendment to the Equality Act 2010) taking effect on 26 October 2024, employers are legally required to take proactive steps to prevent sexual harassment. This landmark legislation is an opportunity to build trust and confidence in your workplace—but are you prepared to respond effectively to the likely rise in reported cases? 👥 At LimeCulture, we understand how challenging it can be for organisations to manage sensitive cases of sexual misconduct. Mishandled cases can have severe consequences for individuals and entire organisations. That’s why we’re proud to offer our trauma-informed training programme, specifically designed to equip disciplinary Panel Members with the skills and confidence to handle sexual misconduct cases. 📚 What We Offer: ✅ Understand the impact of trauma on reporting behaviours, memory recall, and emotional responses ✅ Recognise and respond to trauma in both the reporting party (the victim/survivor) and the reported party (the person accused) ✅ Avoid re-traumatisation during hearings or investigations, creating a safer environment for all participants and ✅ Understand how unconscious biases, myths and misconceptions can affect the decision-making process within the panel ✅ Identify and understand the risks associated with sexual misconduct cases ✅ Make informed decisions while maintaining fairness, transparency, and sensitivity ✅ Consider the emotional impact on panel members and promote strategies for well-being and self-care. 🌟 By completing this training your Panel Members will gain the knowledge, skills, and tools to respond swiftly, fairly, and compassionately—helping create #SaferCultures in your organisation. 💡 Let’s work together to create workplaces where employees feel safe, supported, and heard. 📅 Learn more about our 1-day training programme by emailing info@limeculture.co.uk

  • 🗓️ Date For Your Calendar! 🗓️ Join our 1-day online trauma-informed training for workplace sexual misconduct investigations on Tuesday 28 January 2025. 🔍 Why It’s Crucial: Workplace investigations into sexual misconduct are among the most challenging tasks, requiring a balance of emotional sensitivity, legal compliance, confidentiality, and fairness. Traditional methods can unintentionally re-traumatise victims/survivors, making trauma-informed approaches essential. 💡 What You'll Learn: Our training equips investigators with the skills to: ✅ establish a common understanding of sexual misconduct and wider forms of harassment ✅ consider trauma-informed principles and how to adjust operational practices to implement a trauma-informed approach; ✅ better understand the impact of trauma on reporting behaviours, memory recall and emotional responses; ✅ recognise and respond to trauma in both the reporting party and the reported party; ✅ avoid re-traumatisation during investigations, creating a safer environment for all participants; ✅ explore how unconscious bias, myths and misconceptions may influence decision making; ✅ identify and understand the risks associated with sexual misconduct cases; ✅ make informed decisions while maintaining fairness, transparency, and sensitivity; ✅ consider the emotional impact on investigators and promote strategies for well-being and self-care. 👩🏫 Maria Putz, Head of Training at LimeCulture, explains: “Trauma-informed training helps investigators approach cases with the care, fairness, and respect victims/survivors deserve. This approach fosters trust and ensures investigations are conducted with sensitivity and professionalism.” 🤝 For All Employers: This training demonstrates your organisation’s commitment to employee well-being and ensures cases of sexual misconduct are handled responsibly and fairly. 📩 Interested? We are delighted to be working in partnership with University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM) NHS Trust, one of the first NHS Trusts to sign the NHS England Sexual Safety Charter. Their commitment to embedding a whole-organisation approach to preventing and responding to sexual misconduct is a testament to their dedication to creating a safe and supportive environment for their people. Over the past three months, we have been working with UHNM NHS Trust using our Safer Cultures Framework to support the Trust in embedding the NHS Sexual Safety Charter. We have also been supporting the organisation to meet its duties under the Worker Protection Act, which came into force in October 2024 and provides a new legal duty on employers to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment. Our work with UHNM NHS Trust will inform the development of a tailored prevention and response approach for the organisation, which will include specialist trauma-informed training for key staff involved in investigations and disciplinary processes for sexual misconduct cases. Recognising the importance of effective support, LimeCulture is working with UHNM NHS Trust to establish a new model of support for any member of staff who experiences any form of sexual misconduct or witness inappropriate behaviours. A cadre of Specialist Liaison Officers (SLO's) will be trained by LimeCulture to provide end-to-end, trauma-informed support for colleagues, confidentially supporting those who have experienced sexual violence, harassment or abuse to consider their options, and navigate internal systems and misconduct proceedings. Importantly, Specialist Liaison Officers will provide the specialism within the organisation to support victims/survivors, as they navigate the specific organisational context in which they operate, which external support services often find difficult to navigate. Embedding the Specialist Liaison Officer model within an NHS Trust-wide approach to addressing sexual misconduct will enable the organisation to: * appropriately respond to staff who have experienced sexual violence, harassment or abuse; * allow staff to raise concerns about Inappropriate behaviours and attitudes of colleagues in a trusted space; * be assured of the consistency of the response to sexual misconduct, ensuring effective identification, management and escalation of individual risks and needs, and the ability to retain clear oversight of levels of organisational risk and risk to the public; * encourage reporting through the provision of confidential, trauma-informed support; and * gather information around sexual misconduct, which may will enable early intervention where necessary to prevent escalation.
