We are very pleased to announce the launch of our latest Crowdcube campaign! As transportation and industry electrifies, energy storage is going to play a crucial role in balancing supply and demand and getting power to to the right places. For applications such as EV charging with a high number of charge and discharge cycles, Levistor's unique technology will be in huge demand. This is a very exciting time at Levistor as we are taking our product out of the lab and putting it on customer sites. Join us in our campaign as we drive to make ultra-rapid charging (100 miles in 5 minutes) available....anywhere! https://lnkd.in/e_HpyxmR

Cleantech start-up developing renewable energy storage technology for ultra-rapid EV charging up to 350 kW
About us
Levistor develops inherently safe flywheel technology to reduce the costs of high-power, short-duration energy storage. Our inherently safe flywheels require little containment and no safety enclosures or bunkering that flywheels traditionally require to protect people and property in the event of a mechanical fault. This brings down the cost and makes flywheels a viable technology for supply bursts of energy, as in EV charging or regenerative braking. Our patented laminated flywheel uses sheets of high-strength, low-cost steel to allow higher speeds, lower costs and a structure than ensures a crack can never pass from one sheet to the next. We can thus achieve a high energy density, lower cost and safer flywheel than competitors.

Why Fast Charging Matters for Women In the UK, 76% of EV drivers are men, according to Statista. Ginny Buckley from Electrifying.com suggests this imbalance may stem from a key issue: many women feel unsafe using public EV chargers. It’s easy to understand why. A 50kW charger can take an hour to deliver just 100 miles of charge. Imagine being alone, late at night, in a remote area, waiting an hour for your car to charge—an unsettling and, at times, frightening experience. This concern isn’t really about day-to-day driving. EV manufacturers tell us that one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption is the fear of a “late-night mercy dash”—for example, an urgent 150-mile trip in the middle of the night because a loved one has fallen ill. If the car isn’t fully charged and charging feels unsafe, it’s a genuine problem. For women to feel confident driving electric vehicles, charging must be faster and safer. Ultra-rapid charging significantly reduces the time spent at public chargers down to 5 minutes for 100 miles, helping women feel more secure when driving at night or in less familiar locations. Levistor’s innovative technology can make ultra-rapid charging accessible and reliable, driving the change we need to make EV adoption safer and more inclusive. Support Levistor on Crowdcube—help us redefine energy storage and make EV charging better for everyone. https://lnkd.in/e_HpyxmR This is a high risk investment. Good to see the latest UK car sales figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT): one in four cars sold in November were EVs (news report below from BBC News). At Levistor, we are developing a small-scale flywheel energy storage system to boost the electricity grid and enable super-fast EV charging across all parts of the UK, so ending range anxiety: a 100 mile range in a single 5 minute charge. And with nationwide super-fast charging, more people will make the switch to an EV. We're undertaking commercial trials with National Highways early next year, and we're currently seeking new funding via Crowdcube. Reaction to Jaguar's concept car - the Type 00 - has been mixed but what's not in doubt is the need to improve EV charging infrastructure - to put an end to range anxiety and accelerate the take-up of EVs. Our energy storage technology can help. By boosting the grid with our technology, drivers will get a 100 mile range with just a 5 minute charge. Interested? please visit www.levistor.com , and if you want to join our journey to commercialisaton, we are currently seeking new funding via Crowdcube https://lnkd.in/e_HpyxmR (donʼt invest unless youʼre prepared to lose all the money you invest. ICYM our news announced earlier this week: we are undertaking our first commercial product trial at National Highways’ test and development centre in Gloucestershire. Our energy storage system will boost the UK's electricity grid network and offer super-fast EV charging across all parts of the UK. In particular, our system will address the concerns of motorway service station operators about the lack of sufficient access to power from the grid to meet the increasing demand from EV drivers, and a situation likely to worsen if MW charging for electric HGVs becomes mainstream. If you would like to support us on our commercialisation journey, our Crowdcube crowdfunding opened last week: please go to https://lnkd.in/e_HpyxmR (donʼt invest unless youʼre prepared to lose all the money you invest.
