About us

The theme for the 2024 Law Firm Marketing Summit is: In Marketing We Trust - Building Confidence and Belief in Your Team. This reflects the need for marketing leaders and their teams to be trusted by their colleagues across the firm. They must be trusted to deliver on their strategy, understand and influence partners and other stakeholders, and innovate. Join senior marketing, business development and communications professionals at the Law Firm Marketing Summit for a day packed full of keynote presentations, panel discussions, breakout sessions and networking opportunities. This year’s conference is taking place on 15 October at RSA House, just off the Strand in Central London, home to the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. Highlights will include a case study on law firm rebranding, led by conference chair Alessandra Almeida Jones, Global Chief Marketing Officer at BCLP, and a keynote speech on the science of trust building by leading consultant Stefan Grafe, CEO of TrustLogic and mext consulting. The law firm leader’s perspective will be provided by Shane Gleghorn, UK Managing Partner and Global Co-Chair, Taylor Wessing, in a keynote interview with Mike Beswick, Taylor Wessing’s BD, Marketing and Communications Director. Underlining the opportunities for marketing teams to innovate, Michael Idinopulos, Co-Founder of marketing AI tech start-up MyMai and Margarida Saragoca, Business & Knowledge Director, Vieira de Almeida & Associados, will explore, with the benefit of live demos, how generative AI can transform copywriting, client outreach, pitch creation and other core marketing/BD activities.

  • Here's a January bonus for our network....

LPM brings you a holiday treat - Welcome to LPM December! https://buff.ly/3Dnmvev Traditional law firm models often grapple with the combined challenges of unpredictable revenue streams and client concerns over keeping legal costs under control. Could subscription-based pricing offer a win-win solution, providing consistent income for firms and accessible, transparent fees for clients? This month we explore whether this innovative approach has the potential to reshape the legal landscape. As we close out this year, we’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks for your continued support and engagement — and for helping us build this vibrant community of SME law firm leaders. In 2025, we look forward to sharing another year of ideas, insights and inspiration with you.

Why Email Is Better Than a Call for Networking Follow-Ups I strongly suspect I am in the minority here, but that won't be the first time, and that doesn't mean that I am wrong! Conventional wisdom might suggest picking up the phone after meeting someone at a networking event, but email is often the smarter choice. Here’s why, in my experience: Email is less intrusive. People can respond when it suits them, rather than being caught off guard or rushed into a conversation during a busy moment. This demonstrates respect for their time, which can leave a positive impression. Emails allow you to be concise and clear. A phone call risks veering into long-windedness, potentially diminishing the need for a follow-up meeting—where you would ideally deepen the connection. A carefully crafted email, on the other hand, can pique interest and encourage the recipient to want more. Senior professionals are rarely available for unscheduled calls. Voicemails? They put you at a disadvantage as you relinquish control over the tone and timing of their response. Email gives you control, flexibility, and a professional edge—don’t underestimate its value. What do you think?
