We are more than a mental health charity. We're leading a wellbeing revolution across Lancashire

About us

Lancashire Mind was officially formed in 2010 after the joining of three local Minds: Chorley and South Ribble, Blackburn with Darwen, and Blackpool, Fylde and North Lancashire. Since then, we haven’t stopped progressing. In 2014 we launched the Blueprint for Lancashire, marking the start of the wellbeing revolution. Two years later we’re making good progress. We’ve successfully put the prevention of mental health conditions on the agenda, with local Councils and Clinical Commissioning Groups. In addition to our support services, we’ve rolled out a range of wellbeing and prevention initiatives, working across schools, workplaces and communities in Lancashire. We are more than a mental health charity. We’re a passionate movement leading the mental wellbeing revolution in Lancashire. We campaign to make mental wellbeing a local priority. We help you find the tools you need to stay on track, and when needed, get back on track. We work in schools and businesses across Lancashire to shape a generation that won’t treat people differently based on their mental health. And we don’t stop there. It’s big, bold and ambitious. A whole population approach that works for people at every level of mental health. Together, we can achieve it. Let’s make Lancashire the beacon county for mental wellbeing.

  • #𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 goes to one of our most dedicated fundraisers, Matt Dewhurst, who raised £8,687.78. 👏 . Matt ran a whopping 10k a day in November, ending on the 30th with a marathon! His inspirational challenge meant he gained some wonderful support from friends and family too. . Matt said, "I wanted to fundraise for a charity that supported mental health and wanted to ensure that it was one already doing effective work locally. I asked my social media followers and gym members if they or someone they knew had accessed any such support and would recommend based on their experience and Lancashire Mind was the resounding choice. Therefore it was a no brainer to support yourselves in the clearly impactful work that you're already undertaking. For anyone looking to attempt a challenge to raise funds I would tell them to set a date and make it public! Committing like that and knowing the importance of the cause you're supporting will give you motivation like you've never experienced and in turn that will lead to satisfaction and pride in the completion of the challenge knowing you did what you set out to and that now others will benefit from the funds you've raised for your efforts. It's doing something that is bigger than yourself and it's amazing how that unites people. Especially when the benefactor is improved mental wellbeing." . 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐨 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭! Here's to 2025 together and a continued partnership to help us to achieve our aim of #𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐀𝐥𝐥. 💙

  • Now the festivities are over, it's important to remember that many struggle with the holiday period. Reaching out and connecting with others, who you know may need a little extra support during this time, can make a real difference to some people. . According to a You Gov poll, 1 in 4 struggle more with their mental health over Christmas. We often think that everyone has shared their time with family and friends and make assumptions without really knowing their personal circumstances. . Take some time to connect with neighbours, friends and work colleagues to remind them how valued they are and offer support where you are able. https://ow.ly/4sIP50TXbIZ
