We are delighted that our client, Notting Hill Genesis, received planning approval for the Rotherhithe Reach scheme at last night’s meeting of Southwark’s Major Applications Committee. 🌇 The project will deliver 151 new, high-quality homes, with 24 family sized houses and 127 apartments, 42% of which will be allocated for affordable housing. Located on the site of the former Rotherhithe gasworks, the scheme will bring this former industrial site back to life, promoting sustainable transport options and improving the areas biodiversity. 👥 The Lowick team of Joanna Christophides, Charlie Gilmartin, Rob Thirlwell and Ruaraidh Swainson have been supporting Notting Hill Genesis, advising on political engagement and stakeholder management, and organising four consultation events across two rounds of public consultation. 👊 A pleasure too, to work with Maccreanor Lavington, DP9 Limited, CampbellReith, KMHeritage, Velocity and HTA Design LLP on the project. Morris+Company are delighted to announce work has commenced on site at Huntingdon Shoreditch in Shoreditch London for Blue Coast Capital The new landmark office-led scheme situated at the heart of east London's vibrant commercial district will deliver 150,000 sq. ft. of new best-in-class workspace adjacent to the iconic Tea Building and Shoreditch House. Evolved through rigorous and extensive engagement, testing and dialogue defining Huntingdon Shoreditch's shape, scale, texture, colour, rhythm, tectonics and language. The schematic by the architectural team at Morris+Company directly references the area’s noble, durable, and robust warehouse typology. Generating a contemporary spacious, light filled workspace and maker space. Whilst contributing and encouraging, at street level, greater local connectivity and movement between the site and local business enterprises, most notably those in Redchurch Street, Brick Lane and Spitalfields. Ranging in height from three to nine storeys, and with an anticipated completion date of 2027, the Huntingdon will feature curated retail activations at ground floor, flexible workspaces with generous ceilings heights and natural light, private outdoor amenity space on every office floor as well as a communal roof garden and events pavilion with city views. The first phase of works will see the existing on-site buildings carefully disassembled, ahead of archaeological works in the first quarter of 2025. At a time when occupiers are actively seeking highly sustainable workspace, the amenity rich, smart enabled building will also be fossil fuel-free and all electric, in line with industry wide net zero carbon targets as well as designed to achieve BREEAM Outstanding and NABERS 5*, alongside WiredScore and WELL Building Platinum. 👏 We are delighted to share that last night Westminster City Council's Major Planning Committee gave the green light to our transformative redevelopment of 27 Savile Row, formerly the West End Central Police Station. This approval marks the successful conclusion of over two years of dedication from a top-tier project team. The redevelopment will transform the Northern End of Savile Row, featuring Grade A office space, a vibrant new destination restaurant, and importantly, a training academy for The London Academy of Bespoke. This academy will cultivate the next generation of tailors right in the heart of the Row. The proposal garnered overwhelming support, receiving over 100 positive comments from local businesses, Savile Row tailors, and the broader community, many of whom were present at last night's meeting. The project has been significantly shaped by the input of the Savile Row Bespoke Association and the community at large.
