When thinking about New Year's resolutions, you might plan to implement a new exercise routine 👟. This year Naomi Glover, FRSA, FRSPH has been working on a series of 'brain gyms' to encourage people keep their brains healthier, happier and sharper throughout life 🧠. Naomi is inspiring staff and students across the partnership to make 2025 the year of exercise for our minds and our bodies. The carousel below highlights Naomi's great passion and dedication for this work ⬇️ 1) "Navigating life requires the ability to focus, make sound decisions, remember important details, and adapt emotionally. These characteristics are all part of what is now being called 'good brain health'.” 2) Can we improve our brain health? 3) "Current research indicates that, throughout life, the brain can be protected, rehabilitated, and optimised by modifiable lifestyle factors.” 4) What are the challenges around prevention? 5) Despite promising research, many still believe cognitive decline is an inevitable part of ageing, so they don’t address their risks. Diagnosis rates remain low, making it hard to provide early intervention and prevention.

Learn how to innovate, lead responsibly, and navigate change to transform your own clinical practice and leadership with the KHP Executive Fellowship in Surgical Leadership. This unique programme frames leadership through the perspective of four key domains: - risk and crisis management; - innovation and entrepreneurship; - diplomacy and people management; and - systems design and culture creation. The programme guides fellows through preparations for consultant practice using business school cases.
