Isometric has selected Pachama as its first partner to bring their market-leading digital monitoring, reporting and verification (dMRV) services to reforestation credits. Effective deployment of technology is fundamental to delivering higher quality, transparent reforestation credits. Pachama is a leader in dMRV, offering innovative technologies that harness geospatial data and Artificial Intelligence to assess carbon projects. They are also the RFP technology platform for the Symbiosis Coalition RFP. This exciting development will help reforestation suppliers verify and issue credits faster than ever before.

Today Isometric released the first protocol for carbon removal in mining. The protocol covers activities that use ex-situ mineralization to accelerate weathering. In Open System Ex-Situ Mineralization (OSEM) mine tailings and waste rock are treated in a way that accelerates the natural drawdown of atmospheric carbon dioxide by alkaline materials. Mining is a highly regulated industry and this protocol accounts for the existing regulatory requirements related to tailings and waste rock management. The protocol can be used in operational and closed mine sites. Carbon removal supplier Arca provided key feedback during the development of the OSEM protocol and are planning to use the protocol for projects across Australia and Canada. Expert reviewers from WSP, RMI, Heriot-Watt University and Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd also played a key role in the development of the protocol. Interested buyers, suppliers and scientists are welcome to comment during the protocol’s public consultation which runs until 20th January 2025. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gAFGHh64

Isometric Chief Commercial Officer Lukas May shares his view on what the EU's upcoming carbon removal regulation—and their draft methodologies—mean for the CDR industry. Read more to learn why Isometric’s protocols are the only ones to already meet or exceed the substantive requirements set out in the EU’s draft methodologies.
CRCF, the EU’s flagship carbon removal legislation, will legally enter into force at midnight on Christmas Day. At the most recent Expert Group in October, we discussed the draft methodologies for DAC, bio-CCS, and biochar. I’ve jotted down some reflections on that meeting and what it could mean for carbon removals in 2025 and beyond. https://lnkd.in/eMC2gZQ9

Isometric’s Reforestation Protocol was recently selected as an eligible methodology for the first Symbiosis Coalition Request for Proposals (RFP). Combined with recent ICVCM approval, this means Isometric fulfills all the criteria for a Standard that Symbiosis has set out as part of their RFP process. For suppliers, working with Isometric is the surest way to demonstrate your quality and scientific rigor. The Isometric protocol brings transparency to the reforestation industry with tech-first quantification, dynamic baselines and a more rigorous approach to leakage and life cycle assessment. Suppliers planning to submit a bid to Symbiosis should join this webinar to learn how Isometric can support you. Isometric Carbon Removal Scientist Christopher Kilner, PhD will walk through the protocol and answer questions on what it’s like to work with Isometric. Register today; spaces are limited. https://lnkd.in/eCcfJrvQ

Isometric is pleased to confirm that Isometric’s Reforestation Protocol has been selected as an eligible methodology for the first Symbiosis Coalition RFP. Combined with yesterday's ICVCM approval, this means Isometric fulfills all the criteria for a Standard that Symbiosis has set out as part of this process. If you are a project developer planning to submit a bid and want to learn more about how Isometric can support you, please get in touch at the link in the comments. Suppliers that are interested to submit reforestation projects for consideration by Symbiosis can use Isometric’s protocol to demonstrate their quality and scientific rigor. Isometric’s protocol brings transparency to the reforestation industry with tech-first quantification, dynamic baselines and a more rigorous approach to leakage and life cycle assessment. Congratulations to Symbiosis for their first RFP and all the work that went into it. It is a critical step in helping buyers access high-quality reforestation credits and ensuring carbon removal can scale.

The Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) announced today that Isometric has been approved as a Carbon Crediting Program. Isometric is the first registry specifically focused on carbon removals to receive this endorsement. This follows Isometric’s accreditation by ICROA earlier this year and conditional approval by CORSIA earlier this week. Isometric has been robustly scrutinized by three independent accrediting bodies within the past 12 months and in all cases found to have met their requirements. Isometric has been able to receive these accreditations in a relatively short time-frame due to its commitment to scientific rigor and only issuing carbon removal credits of the highest quality. This means Isometric can now issue CCP-eligible credits under any protocol that receives approval under ICVCM’s Category Assessment process. This is an ongoing process where ICVCM reviews specific protocols against their quality requirements. If you’re interested in finding out more about what CORSIA or CCP-labelled credits could mean for your business, let us know at the link below and we will be in touch. https://lnkd.in/givZG_ci
