Today we publish a summary of our findings into the work by police forces in England and Wales to tackle police perpetrated domestic abuse (PPDA). This report is a part of our ongoing work to help tackle violence against women and girls, and follows the publication of a super-complaint made by the Centre for Women's Justice into PPDA: https://rb.gy/83gpy7 We are carrying out a programme of work to ensure police forces understand their obligations to handle these matters in line with police complaints legislation. We hope this report will support forces in responding to the serious issue of domestic abuse perpetrated by police, and build greater trust and confidence in the police. The psychological health and safety of our people is just as important as their physical health and safety. In order to reflect this in our work, we aim to create a psychologically safe working environment, where staff feel comfortable and confident talking about how they feel and asking for help. That’s exactly why our dedicated wellbeing consultant, Joanne Newman, has delivered a range of wellbeing workshops and sessions at our organisation. From wellbeing check-in sessions to ‘Joga’ yoga and breathing sessions, her sessions empower our staff to improve and prioritise their wellbeing. Her recent wellbeing session with our Communications team gained heaps of positive feedback: “Thank you so much for yesterday’s wellbeing session in Manchester for the comms team. I took a lot from it, and found the content and delivery engaging and informative. I think keeping the concepts of the bridge and the circle of control in mind will really help me navigate my work and personal life. After a tricky few years, your ideas have re-sharpened my focus on personal wellbeing.” Learn more about our wellbeing and employee support: ▶️ https://lnkd.in/eGHDmUnf
