In 2002, we welcomed our first student to an IntoUniversity centre - this year we are proud to be celebrating our 250,000th student! “All of those individual 250,000 young people have their own stories to tell, are known to us by name and are cherished by multiple different staff and volunteers across all of our different centres. From Govan to Great Yarmouth, Bradford to Bristol, each of those young people is provided with the support they need to set them on a path towards a future dream which is waiting to be grasped and enjoyed.” Dr Rachel Carr, Co-Founder and Chief Executive To honour this huge milestone, we will be running our #250kFutures campaign, to ensure we can continue supporting the next generation of students to realise their ambitions, achieve their academic potential, develop vital skills and gain experience of the world of work. Give the Gift of Education this winter and help our young people to reach their full potential. All donations made to IntoUniversity’s Gift of Education campaign during December and January will be DOUBLED, up to a total of £20,000. One donation, double the impact! IntoUniversity
Individual and Family Services
IntoUniversity provides local learning centres where young people are inspired to achieve.
About us
IntoUniversity is an award-winning charity that runs local learning centres which provide an education programme to support young people facing disadvantage in achieving their chosen aspiration. We target children and young people most at risk of failing to meet their potential to go to university due to economic, social, cultural, or linguistic disadvantage. IntoUniversity provides practical learning support and motivational and confidence-building activities for children and young people aged 7-18. We currently have 44 centres across England and Scotland. IntoUniversity is an on-going and long-term service: at the heart of the programme is the belief that underachievement is best addressed in the context of a long-term pastoral engagement with young people where we can build their esteem and support their learning in order that they can reach their potential.

✨2024 has been a busy year at IntoUniversity! While we look forward to the New Year, it's also a good time to reflect on all that has been achieved this year. We continued to grow our presence in England, officially launching two new centres in Kirkby and Leicester, and supported 56,702 students during over 603,000 contact hours this year! Celebrations were also in place for our internship programme, Big City Bright Future, which turned 10! Take a look at our end of year review video below, which includes some of our key moments ⬇️ #IntoUniversity #IUImpact

Big City Bright Future's decade of success wouldn't have been impossible without the dedication and support of our corporate partners. Such partnerships are immensely invaluable to delivering our mission of providing career-related opportunities to talented young people. Ian Foster, Senior Vice President - Chief Operating Officer (EMEA) at our BCBF partner AllianceBernstein (AB), reflects on his and AB's journey with our programme. A big thank you to our partner Apollo Global Management, Inc. Global Management for its generous grant given to IntoUniversity, from the Apollo Opportunity Foundation (AOF). As part of their career education pillar, we are immensely grateful for our partnership with Apollo and the support of the company in helping us deliver meaningful opportunities for Year 12 and 13 students in London. AOF's funding will support the local community close to Apollo. As part of the celebrations, we recently joined Apollo at their London office for a special fundraising quiz! As we approach 2025, we are looking forward to working on a number of exciting initiatives with Apollo! https://lnkd.in/e6298cu2 #IUPartnerships #IUImpact

Over the past year we’ve been celebrating all of the little moments that take place in our centres each and every day at our centres, which create the big impact we’re all striving for. When you consider we’re now about to work with our 250,000th student, it’s fair to say that is a LOT of little moments! But none of this would be possible without the generous support of our donors. You can help us reach even more students, and create even more impactful little moments, by donating to our ‘Gift of Education’ matched giving campaign today: https://lnkd.in/eeanNvx9 Thanks so much for your support!

🔙🎓Over the last ten years of Big City Bright Future, there have been many inspiring stories from our students who have gone onto achieve big things! One of our BCBF alumni, Hilai Qahari, has done just that. Currently studying to qualify as a solictor after graduating with a Law degree, Hilai takes a moment to reflect on what businesses can do to make themselves more inclusive to engage a diverse range of talented young professionals. Take a read of Hilai's piece: https://lnkd.in/gQNba23T #IUImpact
