We are pleased to announce the release of an updated Report from the Flare & Vents Expert Group of IOGP’s Low Carbon Operational Efficiency Committee. ➡️ IOGP Report 673 - Guidelines for design and operations to minimize and avoid flaring This Report offers guidance for the design and implementation of solutions to assist the upstream oil and gas industry in minimizing or eliminating flared gas sources and volumes throughout the lifecycle of their assets. This Report can be used as a technical supplement to 'IOGP-Ipieca-GGFR Report 467 – Flaring management guidance'. The document is embedded in the Energy Transition Integrated Framework (ETIF), a comprehensive resource guiding upstream oil and gas organizations travelling the road to decarbonization, providing a holistic usage guide with different decarbonization solutions and approaches to the vast diversity of operational settings across the industry. This Report is available to download from the IOGP Publications Library at https://lnkd.in/eeub5KJx #oilandgas #flaring #energytransition

It’s day 9 of 12 Days of WEC. Today’s report is ‘Source Control Emergency Response Planning Guide for Subsea Wells’ (IOGP Report 594) This report has been developed to guide Operating Companies in the planning and preparation of a suitable subsea source control emergency response plan. The scope covers basic emergency response organisational format, roles and responsibilities, well design considerations, source control options and implementation considerations. In doing so, it is expected to support Operating Companies in the development of their emergency response plans as well as providing non-technical stakeholders an insight to what is involved in subsea source control. ➡️ To download, click https://lnkd.in/dmpaYRS #IOGPWEC #subsea

🎄 It’s day 8 of 12 Days of WEC. Today’s report is ‘Recommended practice for pore pressure and fracture gradient analysis for well design – construction, intervention, and abandonment’ (IOGP Report 608) The purpose of this recommended practice is to provide information that can serve as industry guidance for the safe planning and execution of well construction and abandonment for prevention of loss of well control. This guidance document aims to define shared language between subsurface and drilling specialists and provide a globally applicable recommended practice for the preparation of PPFG predictions, the definition and communication of associated risks, and uncertainties, and real-time PPFG monitoring during well construction, intervention, and abandonment. This recommended practice assists readers with managing the risks associated with loss of well control. ➡️ To download, click https://lnkd.in/gfUnCkxD #IOGPWEC

We are pleased to announce the release of a new Report from the Flexible Pipes Subcommittee of IOGP’s Subsea Committee.  ➡️ IOGP Report 682 - Flexible pipe annulus vent monitoring and topside venting systems    Annulus Vent Gas Monitoring (AVGM) systems have been widely deployed and can be useful for the timely identification of unbonded flexible pipe failure modes, such as outer sheath failure or leakage from the bore. This Report’s objective is to provide recommended practices to design, implement, and utilize these systems. This Report also offers recommended practices for topside piping systems to be connected to the end fittings with or without AVGMs.   This Report is aimed at operators of unbonded flexible pipe, flexible pipe manufacturers, engineering firms that design topside piping systems, AVGM system providers, and service companies that perform flexible pipe integrity assessments and offshore maintenance and testing.   This Report is available to download from the IOGP Publications Library at  https://lnkd.in/ga9N_mTN #oilandgas #subsea #flexiblepipes

🎄 It’s day 7 of 12 Days of WEC. Today’s report is ‘Well Control Incident Definitions ’ (IOGP Report 660) This document provides a classification system for Well Control Incidents (WCIs). A WCI occurs when there is a failure or degradation of the defined well barrier envelope(s) that are designed and managed to keep fluids in the well or the reservoir. This classification system was established to allow IOGP Member Companies to notify each other, and the wider community, of the lessons learned from well control incidents and near misses. The sharing of these lessons helps to promote learning, avoid the repetition of similar errors, and enable safer operations. ➡️ To download, click https://lnkd.in/g6Htfwsw #IOGPWEC

It’s day 6 of 12 Days of WEC. Today’s report is ‘Recommendations for Enhancements to Well Control Drills in the Oil and Gas Industry ’ (IOGP Report 628) This report will help the industry evaluate existing or new well control drill programs that will ensure rig crews possess technical and non-technical competencies. Specifically, the report aims to build proficiency in responding to real world well control events, including those of high consequence but low probability, based on current and anticipated operations. Effective well control drill programs are an essential component of any successful continuing competency management as it represents the operational component of continuing training. ➡️ To download, click https://lnkd.in/ePsUVSPa #IOGPWEC
