  • As a startup on a mission to breathe new life into #CommunityEngagement and #Volunteering experience, the need to deliver a clear message that is both engaging and inspiring is something we aim for at every opportunity. My personal journey of understanding this need started with Nicholas Brice back July 2020, and I haven't looked back since...

***Master the Art of Persuasive Presentations*** Are your leaders failing to inspire and engage during critical presentations? Ineffective presentations can lead to missed opportunities and disengaged audiences. You may need to provide your people with the confidence and tools to deliver persuasive, impactful presentations that drive action. ✨ Tip: Start with a Strong Hook To capture attention from the start, encourage people to open their presentations with a compelling hook - such as a surprising statistic or a powerful question. This instantly engages the audience and sets the stage for a persuasive message. Keep It Simple, Engaging and Focused Remind leaders to focus on one or two key themes and return to it throughout the presentation to ensure it sticks. Too many points can overwhelm the audience, diluting the impact. If your team could benefit from live presentation coaching, we can help them connect with their audiences and deliver results. Our coaching is powerfully different from standard presentation skills training: we look for the individual presenter's personal style and strengths and help them develop their own unique way of communicating. Our experience of 18 years of directing perfomers in award-winning Edinburgh and international productions and and 30 years of presenting culture change events has informed this approach. “Your speaker coaching programme is fabulous! What a difference you have made to the skills and confidence of some of our senior leaders and managers. Couldn’t recommend you and this programme highly enough!” Adrienne Gault, Head of People Transformation and Organisation Change at Food Standards Agency Do message me if this fresh approach feels right for you and your people. https://lnkd.in/eiZaVDne #presentationcoaching #publicspeaking #leadershipdevelopment

Meet the Founder - Erick Nwanshi Helping Out In My Community Volunteering has been a core part of my schedule for several years now and has increased since the pandemic. The tasks I do are fairly standard and occur regularly, which makes it easier for me to fit them into my schedule. Starting out, committing to volunteering can sound overwhelming, but it’s rarely the case. I was able to go through a pattern of building up my volunteering activities where the needs were either always at the same time of the week or had sufficient flexibility to slot into an available window. At the moment I work with three different nonprofit organisations: a help hub, a food bank, and my church. Each have unique needs, and sometimes varied tasks. The one common theme is they all open you up to a sense of diverse challenges in the community. Helping a local charity with their services by playing a small part does provide a sense of accomplishment and helps to build stronger community ties. The area I work with that I feel is most impactful is helping vulnerable people with tasks they cannot do for themselves. This is also where I was most taken aback. We all face difficulties, but it does not always occur to us how many tasks we take for granted are a challenge to others. There is a growing demand for services provided by nonprofit organisations. This is at a time when the funding gap continues to increase. Join the InitiateAPP movement today and bring hope to communities facing growing challenges. Next Up: Looking Ahead with InitiateAPP! • Unfortunately, most of us don't know what to say. Been there; not a pleasant experience, especially when it suddenly hits you that you still don't know the outcome in that moment. Good work Dorking Minds! We need more of this, especially with the growing challenges in society 👍

There is a wealth of untapped potential in our communities waiting for Charities to take advantage of. Yes, thanks to the post-covid “work from home” culture, there has been a sizeable shift as more people spend more time in the community. This is a treasure trove for charities, with deep rich resources, skill sets, knowledge, and experience, available across communities, and there is a show of growing interest in community wellbeing. InitiateAPP® has community members at the heart of its design, enabling charities to harness these rich opportunities. This way, InitiateAPP® becomes more than just a digital platform; rather, a tool for fostering a sense of ownership and agency. When individuals feel empowered to contribute, share their perspectives, and influence decision-making, they become active participants rather than passive recipients of services. This shift is fundamental for charities seeking to have a sustainable impact. By providing a platform for community members to connect, collaborate, and contribute, charities can tap into an invaluable resource: the collective wisdom and energy of their community. A firm foundation to build capacity and create sustainable impact.

Caregiving isn't one size fits all. Even within Caregiving circles family caregivers tend to get lumped together. Depending on what phase or type of caregiving you are doing you may have different tasks that have to get done. This article talks about common tasks for people who occasionally find themselves having caregiver responsibilities. #familycaregiver #caregiversupport #OccasionalCaregiver
