Year-End Reflections: Building Values and Creating Impact in My First 8 Months at ID5 As the year ends, I’ve been reflecting on my journey since joining ID5 eight months ago. I vividly recall my interviews—conversations about shaping a values-driven culture, connecting a remote team across 16 countries, and rethinking training and development. I thought, "If I can bring even half of this to life, I’ll be thrilled." But I couldn’t help wondering: Would my ideas carry weight? Starting a new role and proposing bold ideas is exciting but daunting. There’s always a risk—what if I misstep? Still, shaping our culture and defining our values felt deeply important, making the uncertainty worth it. Eight months later, I’m proud to say we’ve not only made those ideas a reality but achieved so much more. What I’m most proud of—the work with the most lasting impact on ID5’s culture—is our values. At ID5, we’ve always excelled at the WHAT: hitting targets, driving growth, and innovating. But as we scaled, the question shifted to HOW: the behaviors, attitudes, and principles defining success. To answer this, my team and I dug deep, asking: What do we stand for? What behaviors reflect who we are and aspire to be? The process was thoughtful, challenging, and rewarding. At one point, a manager asked: What part of speech should a value be? We decided: verbs—active, actionable, and lived daily. Another questioned “excellence,” arguing mistakes are essential for growth. This led us to focus on behaviors driving excellence rather than outcomes. Through collaboration, we defined five core values: Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Endeavoring—spelling I CARE. This choice reflects who we are. We care about ourselves. We care about each other. We care about our product and customers. We care about the legacy we’re building. This care is what makes us ID5. In my interviews, I was asked, "What makes you a special candidate?" My answer then is my answer now: I care. Embedding that ethos into ID5’s foundation has been an honor. Looking ahead, I’m excited to see how these values guide us in 2025 and beyond. I’m grateful to work where risks are encouraged, growth is shared, and every voice matters—including mine. Here’s to living our values—in how we work, collaborate, and support one another.
