This week, Sky News led with what they described as a “bizarre” case of a fake carer. https://lnkd.in/eQJTgxbE? Whilst this may seem an extreme case of fraud and deception within the care industry, the article highlights the fact that regulated care should be a minimum requirement for all providers – offering a promise of safety, quality and consistency for those who need it. Unfortunately within the industry, we are seeing an increasing number of introductory care agencies and micro-carers who are operating across Wales (and the rest of the UK) who are not regulated by CIW or equivalent, and therefore not subject to the most stringent legislation and quality checks that one should expect from a care provider. Regulations are in place to ensure that we as care providers will meet the strict standards that are expected, and which have been put in place to protect the dignity and wellbeing of the most vulnerable individuals. This is why regulated care matters: ✅ Quality Assurance: Regulated care ensures that providers meet rigorous standards and follow best practice, offering a level of reliability and trust that families can depend on. ✅ Safety & Accountability: Through regular inspections, care providers are held accountable, ensuring that care services are delivered safely and responsibly. ✅ Trained Professionals: Care Professionals are fully employed and highly trained to handle a range of medical, physical, and emotional needs, ensuring competent and compassionate support. ✅ Peace of Mind for Families: Knowing that a care provider is subject to regulation gives families confidence that their loved ones are in safe hands, receiving the care they need – and deserve. Whether you are looking for home care for a client or if you are considering options for your own family member, choosing a regulated care provider is a crucial step in ensuring their well-being. It's not just about meeting legal standards—it's about offering exceptional care that will truly make a difference. Let’s continue to raise the bar for quality, regulated care! 💙 #Care #RegulatedCare #PatientSafety #QualityCare #HomeCare #Caregiving #SeniorCare #CompassionateCare #HealthCare

We are so grateful to you all and will always remember your kindness to our lovely mum. Also to the wonderful office team who listened to us to put a care package in place that was so beneficial to our mum. Thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts."

We are hosting some anniversary coffee mornings for Home Instead in North Wales next week! It's 9 years since our launch in Wrexham & Flintshire, and 2 years since the Conwy & Denbighshire joined our team! Both events are open to all so staff, local residents and businesses are welcome to attend for tea, coffee and plenty of homemade cake! Donations will be welcomed on the day for refreshments - in Gresford we are raising money for Nightingale House Hospice and in Colwyn Bay, for St Kentigern Hospice. If you are local to any of our offices and fancy popping along to meet our local teams, then you'll be warmly welcomed!
