  • As 2024 draws to a close, we’re excited to celebrate our first year as a certified B Corporation with a look back at all we’ve achieved over the past 12 months. Our first annual impact statement highlights our progress across the five core areas of the #BCorp framework: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. From the introduction of our charity partner, Thames21, to a brand new food and beverage policy in line with B Corp principles and from a revamp of our in-house Academy to new champions for diversity and inclusion, we want to give a big thank you to everyone who has helped us make a difference in 2024. We can’t wait to see how the journey continues in 2025. 🔗 Read more and download our impact statement via the link: https://lnkd.in/e5q2gPg9

  • Our #London office has been getting in the #Christmas spirit by taking part in the annual 'Gift Back' campaign from Team London Bridge! Along with over 40 other local businesses, we collected, wrapped, and donated gifts to nine local charities, including Bede House Association and the South London Refugee Association. This year’s effort resulted in 2,771 presents donated across all the businesses that took part, with deliveries made via 16 cargo bike trips. Extra gifts were also provided to the Met Police Uk Christmas Tree Appeal for distribution across #Southwark and Lambeth. Each year we're proud to be part of this brilliant local initiative, which brings a little festive cheer to our community.

  • How can #acoustic design transform the retrofitting of heritage buildings? While listed and heritage buildings can feature desirable internal architectural features, worthy of care and preservation, traditional #construction methods and materials often suffer from poor sound insulation and provide limited opportunities for acoustic intervention Technical Manager Jerry Rees looks at the transformation of two historic buildings in his latest blog  – All Saints in #London and Bond in #Manchester – each with their own unique acoustic challenges that needed to be solved to deliver an environment that supports the #wellbeing and productivity of occupants and users. Find out how we did it: https://lnkd.in/eXHHmKnT

Plans by English Cities Fund and St Helens Council to transform Earlestown's historic centre have been officially approved! We are excited to be working on this ambitious project, designed to breathe new life into the area’s cherished heritage assets while creating a dynamic space for the #community. At the center of the redevelopment is the iconic #Earlestown Market, believed to be the oldest working market in the UK, and the 125-year-old Grade II-listed town hall. The town hall will be extended and undergo a complete refurbishment, reopening as a new community hub with meeting rooms, flexible workspaces, a courtyard café, and upgraded facilities, including public toilets and a Changing Places amenity. The main hall will be reimagined as a performance and events space, supporting Earlestown’s growing evening economy. The plans are funded by a £20m grant from the Levelling Up Fund, with a further £8m coming from St Helens Council. Design is being led by Jon Matthews Architects for the market square and Buttress for the town hall, with CBRE advising on planning. Other members of the team include Heyne Tillett Steel, project manager Arcadis, cost manager AtkinsRéalis, Cundall, Bowland Tree Consultancy Ltd, TEP - The Environment Partnership and Design Fire Consultants. • This week our #Sports sector experts Matt Kitson and Andrew Hart were in Manchester for the biggest #Stadium Business Design and Development Summit to date. The conference shone a spotlight on the growing strength and importance of the sector, both in the UK and internationally, as well as delivering some fantastic behind the scenes tours of the Etihad Stadium and other #Manchester venues. Special mention to Mark Fenwick of Fenwick Iribarren Architects who took to the stage to share one of our most exciting ongoing projects - the National Stadium of Serbia. We can’t wait for everyone to experience the venue once complete!
