New Off Grid Cabin in Rural Herefordshire
We have been out to visit some Herefordshire tourism businesses who were successful in receiving grants from the Rural Enterprise Fund to develop new products and help them grow their businesses.
A new off-grid eco cabin has been built at Kerry’s Gate near Abbey Dore which is due to open in December.
The farm has used the Rural Enterprise Grant to part fund their build the new cabin, complete with solar power. This is a great example of a farm diversification project, bringing a new income source into the business with minimum impact on the surrounding countryside, whilst supporting the growing Herefordshire tourism market.
The Rural Enterprise Fund is a capital grant scheme that has been funded by the UK Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF), part of UKSPF Funding. The aim is to support new and existing businesses to develop new products and facilities that will be of wider benefit to the local economy. This includes farm businesses looking to diversify outside of agriculture.
This scheme is currently closed but please sign up to our mailing list for up to date information about grants, funding, events, workshops and other business support opportunities in Herefordshire business@herefordshire.gov.uk
