While we didn’t quite reach the target this year, the initiative continues to drive us forward. After months of learning, navigating challenges, and forging new paths, we saw the vision come to life. Advances in technology are driving 51% of organisations to expand their search for talent, particularly in areas like cloud computing, AI/ML, and cybersecurity. However, meeting this demand isn’t without challenges. These organisations do phenomenal work within the criminal justice system and they're naturally aligned to our work across prison education & employability. ✨ Rebooted restores & re-purposes recycled devices to connect prisoners & their families to digital learning & other crucial shared experiences. The ambitions behind this charity are huge and thoroughly rooted in compassion & humanity. ✨ Beating Time helps people survive their prison sentence and thrive on release. From improving mental health and building social inclusion to finding & creating employment for those serving sentences, the work they do is vital in helping people put prison behind them and build the lives they want to live. We’re so proud of Xanthe for combining her passion for running with such a meaningful cause. It's a big day today at Hatch Digital! We are taking a huge step forward with the official first phase of the HMP Brixton Tech Academy – a groundbreaking initiative in prison education and employability. 🌟 Xanthe Marmion, James Bannister and Jazz Singh✨ are kicking off the first phase of what we believe is a game-changing program for transforming lives through tech. The day begins with a curated assessment for two cohorts of men – not to “pass or fail” but to uncover their potential: 💡 Transferable skills 💡 Unique life experiences 💡 Passions, ambitions, and innovative ways of thinking This is about unlocking their potential and understanding how to best support them in gaining the skills needed to thrive in the tech workforce beyond the gates. Reflections on the Get Britain Working White Paper   The recently announced Get Britain Working White Paper is a bold step towards addressing the challenges of economic inactivity and unemployment in the UK. With 2.8 million people out of work due to long-term illness and nearly 900,000 young people not in education, employment, or training, the plan emphasises inclusive and localised strategies to unlock potential across the country.   Key Initiatives:   💡 Youth Guarantee: A commitment to providing young people with skills training, apprenticeships, and job opportunities to tackle unemployment among the "lockdown generation." 🏥 Health-First Approach: Programs to support people with mental health challenges and long-term illnesses back into the workforce, recognising the link between public health and economic activity. 🤝 Local Empowerment: Investment in local authorities and devolved power for tailored work, health, and skills strategies that reflect the unique needs of communities.   For Hatch Digital, this is a call to action.
