GREEN HYDROGEN MILESTONE The government’s Low Carbon Contracts Company has now signed the first three hydrogen production contracts under Hydrogen Allocation Round 1 (HAR-1). These are part of the 11 contracts offered in this initial allocation round for green hydrogen production. These early projects known as West Wales, Cromarty and Whitelee, are the first of their kind and will have a combined capacity of 31.8MW. GREENER GRID PARK Construction work is now underway at an innovative green energy project north of Swansea, following a groundbreaking ceremony which was attended by the First Minister of Wales, the Rt. GREEN STEEL DEAL Tata Steel UK and JCB have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the supply of low CO2 (‘green’) steel. Under the agreement, Tata Steel will supply the British construction equipment manufacturer with green steel from Port Talbot after completing its transformation plans. SUPPLY CHAIN ACCELERATOR Four organisations intending to bring benefit to Wales are set to receive funding through the initial round of The Crown Estate’s innovative Supply Chain Accelerator (“the Accelerator”).
