This week, we hosted a festive lunch for all George Baker colleagues at our head office in Felixstowe. The menu showcased seasonal turkey baps with all the trimmings! To add to the festivities we incorporated our annual Christmas Jumper Day whilst also raffling a Fortnum & Mason Hamper, with all proceeds heading to St Elizabeth Hospice. A big thanks to all colleagues who attended and donated, helping us raise more vital funds for the hospice. Another thanks to Anya Hill from Kitchen Sixteen for catering. #FestiveSeason #GivingBack #GeorgeBakerShipping https://lnkd.in/e5cwppCc

This week, several members of the George Baker Shipping team had the privilege of joining forces with Santa and the Rotary Club Of Felixstowe for an evening of collecting in Trimley St. Martin on behalf of ‘Save the Children UK’. We’re pleased to be part of such an important initiative, helping to make a difference for charitable causes this holiday season. A huge thank you to everyone who came out, braved the rain, and showed their generosity throughout the evening. George Baker Shipping were delighted to attend the 2024 ITFC Business Network Christmas Lunch held at Portman Road. A fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow businesses while celebrating the holiday season. A highlight of the afternoon was hearing from Dan Palfrey, Director of Ipswich Town Foundation, about their inspiring work in the community. The generosity in the room was just as inspiring, with £1,795 raised through raffle ticket sales to support these vital initiatives. Thank you to ITFC Business Network for hosting another successful event. #GeorgeBakerShipping #ITFC #CommunityMatters #IpswichTownFoundation

George Baker Shipping recently had the pleasure of welcoming St Elizabeth Hospice’s ‘Hop to It’ hares into our warehouse. We’re proud to be a supporting partner for this community initiative. The ‘Hop to It’ trail showcases hares designed by talented artists. These statues will soon journey across Suffolk and beyond, paving the way for the eagerly awaited 2025 art trail! A huge thank you to St Elizabeth Hospice for entrusting George Baker Shipping with this important task. Additionally, we’d like to thank Nigel Roberts and Megasteel Ltd for their support and contribution to the project. As part of our engagement efforts, our Sizewell C Supply Chain Engagement Adviser, Karim Massaad, visited George Baker Group and James Kemball Limited, both part of Uniserve Group, the UK’s leading independent logistics and trade management provider. Starting with George Baker Group: Founded in 1982 as an independent customs clearance broker, they have grown over 40 years into a full-service supply chain specialist, offering tailored solutions across ocean, air, and road freight, warehousing, distribution, and related services. Karim was welcomed by the Commercial Executive Joe Leaver, Commercial Director Marc Ling, and Commercial Manager Kath Sorrell, who gave him a detailed tour of the facility. George Baker Group prioritises ESG commitments, supporting local charities, sponsoring sports clubs and events, and investing in workforce development through apprenticeships. They focus on sustainability by using solar panels, adhering to environmental regulations, integrating electric trucks, and actively working to reduce emissions and their carbon footprint. The second engagement included a meeting with James Kemball Limited’s Commercial and Customer Experience Manager, Julie Piner, who provided insights into their operations. Established in 1973, James Kemball has developed extensive container transport services and, in 2017, launched a state-of-the-art container storage solution, offering bespoke services to streamline clients’ supply chains. Their Out of Gauge Service, which includes devanning, repacking, and cross-docking, further supports tailored client needs. With their industry experience, ESG initiatives, range of accreditations and strong local presence. The George Baker Group and James Kemball Limited are very well-positioned to contribute towards supporting the Sizewell C project #FreightManagement #Logistic #Shipping #SupplyChain
