How can you stop developers from using Gen AI in interviews? Or should you even try? Is it really "cheating" at all, when developers use Gen AI anyway? We have published a new Gartner guide to platforms used to assess technical skills of developers. These platforms, like Karat, HackerRank, CodeSignal, and Geektastic, are often used for interviews, but can be used in general for skills assessment outside of interview situations too. We cover how the tools use "proctoring" to detect usage of generative AI. And, in fact, some embed code assistants into their platforms already, in a real-time programming environment for candidates to use. It's a fascinating market to cover. Kudos to Nitish Tyagi, Aaron 🐺 Harrison, Tigran Egiazarov, and Fatima Ahmed for publishing this report, and Peter Hyde for pioneering Gartner's research in this area. https://lnkd.in/eakHM4jM [Gartner subscription required]

  • We are excited to announce we have been acquired by Deazy 🎉 Whilst Geektastic will still operate as a stand-alone technical assessment platform, we will form a crucial part of Deazy's strategy to accelerate digital delivery for technology leaders. 🏆 By enhancing their ability to vet the highest quality development talent and combining them with their UK-based team of highly experienced tech, product and delivery specialists, we can now offer a complete solution for any company struggling to get their digital ambitions delivered. Update from Geektastic's co-founder Rick Brownlow below.

CEO & Co-founder Geektastic & Vetting and Quality Lead at Deazy

Exciting news from Geektastic HQ 🚀 Deazy, a company we have partnered with since 2022, has acquired Geektastic. 🎉 We are so excited to take our partnership to the next level and strengthen their vision of accelerating digital delivery for technology leaders. By combining a global community of pre-vetted development partners with a UK-based team of highly experienced tech, product and delivery specialists, and a rigorous end-to-end delivery methodology, Deazy offers a complete solution for any enterprise struggling to get their digital ambitions delivered. Geektastic will continue to operate as a stand-alone technical assessment platform but it will also become even more embedded in Deazy’s process of deploying high-calibre developers and full product delivery teams to their customers. I will be taking on a new and exciting role within Deazy as their Quality and Vetting Lead, which means I will be running the Geektastic platform whilst driving the vision and delivery of vetting within Deazy. 🔎 One of the main reasons we wanted Geektastic to join Deazy was the people. It always helps when you have worked closely with the team before the acquisition but having spent time with Andy Peddar, Alana Pearson and the team integrating the platform and understanding their vision of actually delivering quality, I knew this was the right home for Geektastic. 2024 is going to be a very exciting year!!
