Last week Fort Vale Engineering Limited represented ITCO International Tank Container Organisation at the European Commission in Brussels with regards to the hot topic of potential PFAS restrictions in our industry. Our Engineering Director Matthew Woodcock attended the meeting on behalf of ITCO (International Tank Container Organisation) and joined up with representatives of International Union of Wagon Keepers (UIP) to lobby on behalf of the tank container and rail industries to discuss with the European Commission the effects of the potential restrictions of PFAS will have on bulk chemical transport. The impact of these restrictions on our industry include the risk of insufficient containment of highly hazardous chemicals and dangerous goods to the environment, with potential consequences including health risks and danger to life. Feeling extra proud as I walked into college this morning following the WorldSkills UK event last week and the medal ceremony on Friday evening. We had 5 learners who represented the college and all of them were medal winners in their categories.
