As we look forward to a new year at FoodCycle Ely Cardiff, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the joy of our Christmas celebration! 🎄 The incredible volunteers in Ely came together to create a truly special evening filled with warmth, community, and delicious food. Here's what was on the festive menu: ✨ Starter: A vegan salmon dish paired with fresh tomatoes, spinach, and spring onion. ✨ Main: A Quorn Christmas dinner with all the trimmings ✨ Dessert: Christmas pudding, served with cream Our guests and volunteers had a fantastic time, filled with festive cheer, hearty food and that FoodCycle community spirit. #cardiff #volunteering #foodcycle

2000 Hours of Dedication – Thank You, Lynne! A few weeks back at our Longbridge project, they celebrated an incredible milestone - the wonderful Lynne, has surpassed 2000 hours of volunteering with FoodCycle. That's right, TWO THOUSAND hours. Lynne is a Project Leader at both our Longbridge and Weoley Castle meals and her ability to make every volunteer, whether new or long-standing, feel valued and part of the team is truly inspiring. Thank you, Lynne, for your incredible hard work, compassion, and commitment to FoodCycle. This is a phenomenal achievement, and we are so grateful for everything you do. 👏🥂 Here’s to you, Lynne.

Fully in the Christmas spirit now, finishing up 2024 with FoodCycle at Bow Road project 🎄Volunteers pulled together a three-course vegetarian Christmas dinner, including a delicious Vegetarian wellington with Quorn (vouchers donated by Quorn Foods), mixed veg and gravy. I'm always amazed by the creative ideas the team have, with donated food from City Harvest London. Grateful to have met some lovely volunteers and guests again this year, as it's such a positive experience not just for those who visit us for a warm meal or a chat, but also for the hosting and cooking volunteers spending time together and creating something amazing. Also glad to have (just!) hit my 150 hours volunteering with FC! Wishing a happy festive season to all 🎄💚🎅 #LoveFoodHateWaste

“You don’t realise how a simple act of kindness can make a difference to another...” 🧡🙌 Earlier this month we welcomed Just Eat Takeaway.com courier, Viktoras to Leeds Seacroft, to experience what it's like to volunteering at a FoodCycle community meal. The result - three lovely films that capture just how special these meals are and the incredible team work and dedication that goes in to serving, a hot, three-course meal. Throughout December, couriers have been stepping in to help with food collections and deliveries, all thanks to Just Eat Takeaway.com Part 1 https://lnkd.in/emYp38nF Part 2 https://lnkd.in/enUvmP5F Part 3 https://lnkd.in/ei8AM5AK

Earlier this month, our fantastic Midlands team kicked off the lead up to Christmas with a celebratory meal for their volunteers. 🎄 Volunteers are the backbone of the third sector and vital to our work at FoodCycle, so our Midlands team wanted to take the opportunity to give back to their wonderful team of volunteers. We would like to extend a huge thank you to Compass Group for hosting the event and preparing a delicious 3-course vegetarian meal and to the raffle prize donors including Marks and Spencer Moseley, The Glee Club Birmingham, Just the Tonic Comedy Club, The Albany Theatre Trust, and Lounge Café Bars Louco Lounge.
