ISO 10993-18 "Chemical Characterization of Medical Device Materials within a Risk Management Process" is a complex document that encompasses the wide variety of devices but it is not always clear what needs to be performed, the required sensitivity of analytical methods, which compounds must be identified and assessed for toxicological risk in order to comply with the MDR. This presentation details how to determine what testing should be performed along with examples for various applications in order to be successful with EU applications. Mr. Rick Reiley is a Chief Scientific Officer in Extractus Ltd and Global expertise in E&L, led GSK and Haleon's E&L teams for pharma and consumer health. Previously Director of Drug Development for a pharmaceutical startup with 20+ years in R&D.
