We're delighted to announce that the Technical Centre of Excellence for Asda Logistics Services has received the Investors in People (IIP) Platinum award!   The IIP awards assesses businesses against nine key indicators around people and leadership areas, helping to drive standards of excellence and develop our colleagues.   Only 7% of 50,000 companies hold the Platinum membership, so having been Gold members since 2022, we’re proud to receive this award as a clear indication of our continued investment in colleagues 🌟💚

This Christmas, our Home Office colleagues have been hitting the shop floor and lending a hand to our store colleagues during our busiest time of year. Thank you to everyone supporting our stores this Christmas! #OneAsda 💚

Across December our Community Champions have been organising a series of heart-warming events to bring people together as part of our “Don’t be gnome alone” campaign to help combat loneliness and isolation in the over 60’s. We’ve been supporting a whole range of activities including our winter warmers £1 meal deal initiative in our chatty Asda cafes, our amazing colleagues have been wearing Happy to Chat badges to let people who might otherwise be alone know that they're available to talk to them, and delivering £600,000 worth of grants from the Asda Foundation to put on festive activities to bring groups together. A very Merry Christmas to all our customers, colleagues, and communities, from everyone at Asda 💚🎄

As we near the end of 2024, we want to give a heartfelt thank you to all our colleagues and customers who have helped us achieve amazing things in our local communities and with our national charity partners. Last week Hayley Tatum, Asda’s Chief People and Corporate Affairs Officer, received her MBE for services to the voluntary and charity sector from His Majesty King Charles at Windsor Castle.   Everyone at Asda is delighted to see Hayley's passion for making a positive difference to colleagues, charities, and communities across the UK recognised in the King's Birthday Honours list. Since 2021, Hayley has sat on the board of trustees for retail charity GroceryAid, as well as playing a central role in supporting Asda’s Tickled Pink campaign and sitting as a trustee for Tommy’s, the UK’s largest pregnancy and baby-loss charity.   Congratulations Hayley!

Our Boldon Colliery store has been named this week’s Grocer 33 store of the week – huge testament to the team’s hard work! 💚   The store scored an impressive 87% rating, with this week’s mystery shopper highly impressed by the level of service from our colleagues and high standards at the store.   Shaun Parker, General Store Manager, spoke to The Grocer about the pride he has for the team, and what has been the driving force behind the stores high standards and strong performance.   “There’s some real grafters here. We’ve got 489 colleagues currently, and they make the store what it is.”   Huge congratulations to Shaun and all of our colleagues at the Boldon Colliery store! 👏   #proudtobeasda
