We’re proud to be part of the team making reliable long-distance rail services accessible for more people across the UK, through our work with HS2 (High Speed Two) Ltd. Together with our JV partner Ferrovial we’ve been awarded three contracts to design and build 140 miles of high-speed rail infrastructure for HS2. It’s a significant award by one of our key clients, supporting a strong forward order book in the UK & Ireland Division. #Highspeed #Travel #MakingPossible More background here: https://lnkd.in/eeBtFdsp

Incredible work on #HS2 on new green bridge at Turweston on the edge of Buckinghamshire and West Northants. Thought to be one of the largest in the UK and designed by main works contractor Eiffage Kier Ferrovial BAM (EKFB), the bridges alongside the green tunnels will knit together 33 square kilometres of new wildlife habitats alongside the railway including 7 million new trees and shrubs. #highspeedrail #construction #mitigation #rail #railways #bridges https://lnkd.in/e3FGPHR9

We are delighted to have begun work on the Turweston Green Bridge 🎉 The bridge will be planted with hedgerows and vegetation to provide cover for wildlife crossing one of the longest and deepest cuttings on the new high-speed railway. Luis Prieto López-Dóriga, Project Manager at T2G, said: “It's exciting to witness the construction of the wildlife bridge at Turweston. This innovative 5,940-square-meter structure will carry a country lane and footpath across the HS2 railway, providing a safe corridor for small animals, insects, and birds." New Video 🎥 Work begins on the Turweston Green Bridge 🌳. The 5,940sq/m bridge will carry a country lane and footpath across the HS2 railway, with space on either side to provide a safe corridor for small animals🦊, insects🐜 and birds🕊️. With the foundations now complete, engineers have begun lifting the thirty-six massive steel beams that will support the 99m wide structure into position. Once the main structure is complete, excavation will continue beneath the bridge to complete the cutting where the track will be laid. This will stretch for 1.5 miles between the Westbury and Turweston viaducts on the outskirts of Brackley, helping to reduce noise and disruption for residents. With over 500 bridging structures across the HS2 route, ranging from small road bridges and drainage culverts to huge viaducts, there’s never a dull day for Eiffage Kier Ferrovial BAM (EKFB). Last week, our team successfully marked the completion of the beam installation at the West Street Overbridge, near Calvert. The overbridge will be a key road structure linking local villages, Twyford, Calvert, and Steeple Claydon over the high-speed railway line. It’s one of 81 bridges being built by EKFB alone on the HS2 route. Once complete, it will span 60 metres in length, allowing road users and utilities to cross over the HS2 route below. And just as one milestone completed, another one kick-started. Approximately 20 miles North on the project, assembly of the half-kilometre long Edgcote Viaduct began. Set low into the landscape, the 515-metre-long Edgcote Viaduct will carry the railway across the floodplain of the River Cherwell, south of Chipping Warden whilst maintaining the visual identity of the existing hedgerows and woodland. The viaduct is set to become only the second in the UK to have all its major structural elements manufactured off-site helping to speed up construction, boost efficiency and reduce the number of lorry movements on local roads. #HS2 #Infrastructure #Rail #Bridges #Structures
