Dubit have had the privilege of working with Cafcass (Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service) which advises the family courts in England about the welfare of children and what is in their best interests . Cafcass need to conduct research to update the tool its Family Court Advisers (FCAs) use to collate the personal circumstances of children. This takes into account children’s thoughts and feelings about their current living situation. Dubit are conducting focus groups with young people from the Family Justice Young People’s Board who have had personal experiences with Cafcass as well as Family Court Advisers. The sessions will determine what Cafcass needs to consider when building a new tool used by FCAs. The tool needs to be appropriate and engaging for a number of different age groups as well as being easy to use and collect the necessary information on devices which are accessible to FCAs. Dubit looks forward to helping Cafcass develop this tool and enabling FCAs to continue to hear from young people going through a potentially disruptive and sensitive time in their lives.’
