Starting 2025 on a very positive note with a good news story from one of our Named Financial Advocates in the West of England! 👏 Over the last year, we have been supporting someone who was on a tight budget and low income. Through the support of their Dosh advocate, it was found that their high energy bills was contributing to this. So, the Dosh Advocate asked the person's support team to start getting monthly meter readings. The readings showed that the person had actually been overpaying and resulted in a £2000 back payment! This provided much needed financial relief for the individual and a long lasting impact on their budgeting going forward. 🎉 We are so pleased with this outcome, including the great collaboration between our advocate and the support team to help improve the person's financial independence. Also, take this story as a reminder to get those meter readings in for yourself or someone you support! Supporting someone over the winter months? We have another good news story to share from Lisa, one of our Named Financial Advocates in East Anglia! 🤩 In 2021, we started supporting a lady who came to us with a substantial amount of debt that she wanted to be cleared. With the help of her Dosh advocate, she was able to develop healthy spending habits and a budget. Overtime, this meant she was able to clear her debt! Day to day, she has a cash card for her local bank account which she uses to withdraw money to purchase anything she needs with help from her support staff. 🤝 With Dosh's support, she is now able to enjoy regular holidays with the money she has now been saving, something that has been one of her goals since first meeting with her Dosh advocate.
