Dodd Group has showcased its commitment to developing its people by joining The 5% Club, an industry led initiative focussed on driving momentum into the recruitment of apprentices, graduates, T-Level students and sponsored students. The 5% Club is a movement of more than 1,000 employers providing ‘earn and learn’ opportunities to develop the skills and talents people need to become more employable and create meaningful careers. Companies joining The 5% Club commit to raising the number of apprentices, sponsored students and graduates on formal programmes to 5% of their total workforce within five years. Members are also asked to publicly report their progress in their Annual Report. Existing members range from SMEs to FTSEs and cover all sectors including engineering, transport, and financial services.

And thats a wrap, the legendary Last Day Line Up completed and enjoyed by all. Congratulations to William Hammerton for winning the Dodd Group South Darts League for 2024. Congratulations to Luke Davey for winning Employee of the Year 2024, presented and awarded by last year’s winner. The Coastal property team were the winners of the Christmas Challenge this year, scoring the most points for their Miami beachside residence. Great efforts was made by all, although i think we should stick to pipes & cables. Thankyou Santa also for making your usual appearance, glad to have you along. (I’ve promised them all i won’t conduct another build challenge for 2025…… or will i 🤔)

It was certainly an honour for our local VIVO team at CTCRM Lympstone, Devon, to gain such great recognition following a recent visit by the King. King Charles attended a Passing out Parade at the base, which is the commando training centre for the Royal Marines, and our team - along with our supply chain partners - were praised for all they did helping to prepare. And at a special ceremony held by the site commandant following the visit, they - along with our supply chain partners at Dodd Group and Gavin Jones Ltd – received a ceremonial commando dagger for all their hard work. At the presentation, the commandant said the King and his delegates were thrilled to attend such a well-managed site and provided positive feedback for the marines and support services. The dagger (pictured) has an engraved plaque with a picture of the King and a special thank you from the base for the support our team and our partners provided to help make the Passing Out Parade such a success. We at VIVO provide facilities management services CTCRM Lympstone as part of our Built Estate contract at MoD establishments across the southwest on behalf of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), which includes maintenance and project work as well as grounds' maintenance duties. A big thank you to all the staff at our Dodd Group Smethwick branch for contributing toys to the Birmingham Childrens Trust. Myself and Emma Ladd dropped toys off at Camborne House children’s centre earlier this week where the staff will be working over Christmas to give at least 9 residential children a Christmas Day to remember.
