The CTPA is delighted to announce that Dr Emma Meredith, Director-General, has been awarded an OBE in His Majesty's New Years Honours list for services to Business and Consumers. Emma, a pharmacist by profession, has worked at CTPA for over 20 years and was Director of Science at the Association for many years before being appointed Director-General in 2019. On receiving the accolade, Dr Emma Meredith said: “I am extremely honoured and humbled to receive such a prestigious award in the New Year’s Honours list. This came as such a wonderful surprise and I am still rather overwhelmed! This is, however, most definitely testament to the incredible work the CTPA Team does and for all its successes. I would like to thank all of my colleagues at CTPA, past and present. It is a joy to know and work with them. I would also like to thank all of the Chairs, Vice-chairs, Treasurers, Board members, members and consultants during my time at CTPA for their help and advice. On a personal level, I would like to pay tribute to my beloved late parents and my three fabulous sisters and their families for their unfailing love and belief; and to my dear friends for their encouragement and support. With a background in, and a passion for, science, I am proud to work in an industry deeply grounded in science and innovation and which produces products that are absolutely critical to everyday life for our hygiene, health and wellbeing. It is a privilege to represent the cosmetics and personal care industry and those who work in it. To receive such recognition for a job I absolutely love is beyond my expectation.” CTPA wishes Emma many congratulations on receiving this award in recognition of her work at the CTPA. #CTPA #NY25Honours #OBE #cosmeticsregulation #cosmeticsscience #sustainability #CTPAmembership

CTPA was pleased to welcome the Shandong Institute for Food and Drug Control (SDIFDC), China, in London. The SDIFDC delegation was keen to learn about the UK Cosmetics Regulation and how it differs from the EU. The visit provided a great opportunity for CTPA to introduce its China Working Group and share insights on the latest scientific developments around non-animal methodologies in the UK. CTPA was delighted to learn about SDIFDC’s activities and is looking forward to future collaborations and knowledge sharing. #UKcosmeticsregulation #SDIFDC #cosmeticscience #NAMS
