  • Cotswold Homes has released four government-backed First Homes properties at its Skylark Way development in Down Ampney. The one and two-bedroom units are discounted off the market rate and built with the same commitment to quality and craftsmanship, offering an exceptional living experience in an enviable Gloucestershire village location. Sarah Williams, Sales and Marketing Director at Cotswold Homes commented: “With the First Homes scheme, prospective buyers could step onto the property ladder in a brand new home and pay at least 30% less than the market price thanks to this government scheme which we have adopted on this stunning development. “We believe just because it’s the first home you own, you shouldn’t have to compromise. Your first home should be in a great location, be thoughtfully designed and have modern open-plan living spaces. And the First Homes scheme makes it even more affordable to buy one.”

Land and Planning Manager at Cotswold Homes Ltd

I am delighted to announce that Wiltshire Council's Northern Area Planning Committee unanimously voted to approve our reserved matters application for 23 high quality homes on the edge of Malmesbury today. All of the homes are to be built from natural stone and each will benefit from air source heat pumps, photovoltaic panels and electric vehicle chargers. The proposals include a range of 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes, 9 of which are to be affordable homes taken on by a housing association. Councillors commented on our "exemplary" engagement with the town council who played an important role in shaping the detail, following a number of meetings before and during the application. With a difficult history to the site, a great deal of time and work was put in to not only the reserved matters, but also the separate discharge of conditions applications which ran in tandem. As well as a huge thanks to the design team, it is also important to highlight and commend the incredible work of our planning officer, who has provided a first class service throughout. As an industry we are quick to jump up and down when service is poor and it is important to give credit where its due when the service is great - so a huge thank you to James Repper who was key in guiding this one to a successful conclusion. We're always on the look out for new opportunities so do get in touch if you think we could help you unlock your lands potential.
